I don't see anyone stepping up and grabbing the 13th forward spot.

Enquivst was one step behind and for a big guy, he seemed to lack the strength to knock anyone off the puck.

Trottier has the skill, but made some glaring mistakes.

I can see the Habs picking up a player on the waiver wire to fill the position.

AK...well back to his normal self... invisible.

I think the rule your talking about where the penalized player is not allowed to partake in the shootout was just a suggestion by a commentator. Actually, for some reason it seems like it was pierre lebrun on HNIC.

Patches bet the goalie 4 times. unreal. And scotty got a couple of assists. I fell asleep for some of it, and stupid RIS kept going to commercial in the middle of play, but from what I saw of scott gomez, he looked good.

and why is daniel radcliffe posted at the top?

That's a great sign for the season. They're not just going to shine, they're going to create a lot of room for guys like Gomez, Pleks and Cammy.
Crosby has never had a 40 goal scorer on his wing.........I don't even know if he has had a 30 goal scorer on his wing for that matter?!?

It was Bob Gainey who suggested it when someone got a penalty against us with less than a minute left in OT(I think), and then participated in the shootout.

Completely forgot about the other guys who haven't played. I really wanted to see Stejskal suit up against some NHLers, and thought Winnett earned a spot with his play in the rookie camp.

They won't pick up a player for the 13th forward....they'd do it for the 12th though and not knowing how the injuries are going, it might just be a possibility.

Couldn't care less about Stejskal or Winnett as they will never be NHLers.

Ellis on the other hand.........would be interested to know why he hasn't seen any gametime?

Here's my review of the game, player by player, for those who didn't have the chance to see it. I didn't evaluate Gill though since you know what you get from him.

Great game by Dumont, 7 hits, 2 takeaways and 1 giveaway, he was a pain in the ass for the senators

Engqvist was a downer for me... That kid has no offence in his game, Radek Bonk V.2 at best

Yemelin aside from that horrenduous pass in OT looked good, he was solid and played the body perfectly.

Kostitsyn didn't look out of place on the point in 5v4.

Lawson looks solid, for an AHL goalie.

Gallagher... considering the number of injuries, we might see this kid play a few season games and then sent back with the Giants, amazing game again, always buzzing, trying to go to the net, amazing hands and puck protection, I LOVE that never giveup attitude. He was nervous on that shootout, but give the kid a breath! Had a nice feed from pacioretty but he couldn't get a hold of it or else he would have scored.

Cole was invisible for half of the game and then he began to play well. It's hard to play with an AHL caliber center too...

Gomez is still the ole good gomez, a lot of giveaways but without him we lose tonight.

Patches... simply a great game from the wolverine.

I didn't notice Diaz much but he played 25 minutes, good game from him.

Avtsin was trying as hard as could, he's still missing some jump from the first few steps, maybe a year or two away from the NHL, certainly not as lazy as AK.

Tinordi looked way better, good fight too. I'm still impressed by his mobility for a guy of his size

Desimone, m'eh.

Trotter was invisible, he had one chance and he passed the puck...

Darche looked slow today, he tried hard, good warrior.

Weber : Aside from his giveaway, he had a good game. Was the one I noticed the most from our D-squad.

I wouldn't bet agaisnt Stesjkal just yet, good reliable D that is a rock on D. He improved his skating a whole lot too the last 2 years. If he's not good enough for us he could turn into an asset for trades too.

He faired well, he fought Zack Smith. Landed a few shots, and if he would have been stronger, Smith would have been KO-ed by these. I think he's bigger than Smith too which could have helped. Still happy to see him fight agaisnt NHLers.

Not great. He towered over Smith (who is a tough SOB in his own right), but his punches weren't as good. Smith landed a solid uppercut and Tino followed with a couple of decent ones. Smith took the giant down. I'd say Smith won that one by a bit.

He did well. He didn't get his ass kicked but he didn't land many punches either. He needs to learn how to take advantage of his size. I would say it was a draw but I would like to see it a second time to be sure.

He can become a good fighter if he gets stronger and gets more fighting experience.

A lot of rights, they didn't all land, but he's really strong on that side. He switched to his left & the fight ended. Didn't back down.

I was at the game... and I guess we did not see the same fight because Tinordi landed some pretty nice uppercuts. One of them really made Smith's head snap back. Smith did land some punches and a good uppercut, but Tinordi won that fight. Who cares if Smith wrestled Tinordi down at the end of the fight.

Once Tinordi puts on more weight and muscle mass, he should pack a serious punch.

Yes sir! Last season 26-26, but we never checked those shootout goals. He made that look easy.

Anyone know where we could find video of the fight? I remember Zach Smith beat up Horton last year pretty good...

Pacioretty: Extraordinay game. Great speed, good strides, solid work along the boards, decent defensively and his shots were quick, heavy and on the mark.

Cole: Solid in the second half. Barely noticed him in the first half.

Gomez: Same old but put some points on the board. Still doing the breaks from center ice that end with a blown tire. Still shoots straight into the goalie's jersey logo. Scored a goal, but it was really Alfie scoring in his own net. Gomez was just the last one who touched the puck.

Engqvist and Trotter: bad game for both of them. Trotter was worse I guess, but not impressed by Engqvist's offensive and defensive skills. Nobody is stepping up so far for that center position on the fourth line.

Avstin: Worked hard against the board but does not seem to be NHL ready

Gallagher: Solid game. Tough against the boards for a little guy. Has some problems when checked hitting the blue line with some speed and lacked finish on the net (could have scored two goals easy). But overall, solid game. Made a couple of nice moves attacking the net.

Henry: Solid defensively. Not so good getting that first pass out of his zone.

Yemelin: Played a good game. No monster hits, but stood his ground and showed some speed going on offense.

Weber : Good game. Solid defensively. Played this game as if it was a regular season game. Does not want to lose his lead as the 7th D.

Gill: Coasting...

Dumont: OK. Showed some hustle but did not show any offensive skills.
