i think it likely we'll see Weise and Newbury suiting up for the Isles by season's end. Seems like that's where most of our borderline nhl-ers end up following waivers

Who can survive the longest of the forwards, Thuresson, Deveaux, Newbury, Hagelin, Bourque, Christensen, Weise or Mitchell?

Prime suspects on D to get cut next are Bickel and Parlett. I do hope both suit up in Philly so we can actually see them play.

Weise can be sent down so he is going no where. Newbury has cleared waivers many times. He's a minor leaguer and descent 4th line call up for a few games

I think you have to throw in MZA with that group of forwards on the bubble.

I sort of expect a "bubble players" lineup vs. Philly... make sure all the guys on the fringe get a chance to shine... I think one more N.A. pre-season game would have been good to get a better feel who will cut it and who gets cut... 1 game is a very small sample to pick players you want to carry this season..

I figure they kept Stajcer to get a longer look, and then decide between Hartford or an overage year in junior hockey.

Really disappointed with Valentenko. Thought he could've been a solid player for us. Also, with the way people raved about Kundratek last year, I'm surprised he didn't get a game. Wish we could invite Mara now..Bickell and Bell aren't good options...

cue the Mara or Campoli news for tommorow........it does look rather thin and young when Staal is a question mark

Interesting to see that McIlrath is still with us. He played a very strong game against the Devils. His cap hit is 1.325, so it wouldn't be easy to squeeze him and Erixon onto the team. I don't think it's very likely, but I'd say there's at least an outside chance at this point (depending on his continued play).

Props to McIlrath, Bourque, Hagelin for sticking around, a few others.

We can already count Deveaux, Bickel, as cuts and I doubt McIlrath sticks around.

good call but to be fair he was one of the last cuts last yr. But he did never play a game in a Ranger uniform for the record

in the end its too bad cause he can hit, block shots and has a good shot from the pt but his foot speed doesnt seem to be there............also Rangers have a ton of D prospects ahead of him for the future..........to bad they couldnt get a pick for the guy

Its not official he is going back to Russia but it would make sense for his pocket book.........he can hang with Pashin

I want to see Parlett in a pre-season game. He surprised in Traverse city as much as Bell surprised in pre-season.

Its thin yeah, but we have to remember Staal is cleared for contact. So even with his symptoms of headaches are the Rangers really gonna add a veteran who doesn't want to be waiver material once Staal returns? I personally think Staal is in on opening night, my personal guess he plays the last pre-season game then he'll be evaluated, and if he's okay, then game 1 Staal is dressing.

Worst case scenario with no trades or waiver pick ups they could dress a defense along the lines of

McD - Sauer
Erixon - Girardi
Del Zotto - Eminger
ex: Bell

He's just not that bright and did not grow much at all last year. Management never never talks abou him. I'm not surprised in the least that hes not making this team. But I am surprised hes been cut so quickly. He was awful last night though basically played his way out of here.

Am I the only one seriously worried about our D now? Staal aside, I was hoping for decisions to be made difficult... they seem to be easy and that's unfortunate.
