I think it's pretty obvious why Price is starting. To get him into game shape by game #1.

Hopefully he steals us a game by the end of preseason but even if not it really doesn't matter. Budaj is a potential #1 goalie and Price will be Price anyways, by game #1 he should be fine.

Budaj instead of Price... Hockey I/O

Terrible line up but hey, it is what it is.

Probably trying to get a read on his progress so far. Training camp isn't just about deciding who makes the team and who doesn't, it's also about evaluating every player you own.

Gross, Gionta and Dumont look like the only ones who are going to bring some energy tonight.

Ugly looking line-up...

Other than the first line, I don't expect to see much offense generated.

Markov still skating alone yesterday. As for Eller he's expected to skate with the team in full contact practice soon.

Heard it on RDS yesterday.

No Gomez Vision? No Beaulieu-Subban PP tandem? Sad.

I've been impressed by St-Denis, the guy was such a long shot but i could see him getting a couple of games this season if there are injuries/deceptions

When was the last time we had five québécois in the lineup? Interesting. I hope to see a few scraps tonight, my guess is Schultz try and drop it with someone. Maybe Mitera, Lefebvre too. Watch Carker on the other side.

Excited to see Plekanec-Gionta-Cammalleri together for the first time too! this should be good

I see Beaulieu-Gorges as a future pairing for, so I'm excited to see that. Also looking forward to seeing Schultz fight someone.

Minor upper body injury. Probably just don't want to risk making it worse in a pre-season game.

as well they should, the habs start every regular season with 3 games on the road, so the nhl lets us have the majority of our preseason games at home

and even then our road games are in ottawa and halifax lol...

ugly line up, with no subban, the magnifying glass will be on beaulieu bigtime

come on dumont, impress us more

Could Dumont be our 4th line center or 13th forward instead of Engqvist ?

No ! Forward Andrew Conboy skated for the first time since Saturday. He suffered a head injury when he was checked by Erik Cole.

What about Neil and Cowen ? Ooof i hope they don't rough it up. The Habs will be crushed !

I just read this about Markov "Andrei Markov continues to skate alone or with team therapist Graham Rynbend. According to Canadiens coach Jacques Martin, he’s making progress but won’t be ready for the October 6th season-opener in Toronto. "

i dont see why not really, but i still think they RLY want to get engqvist that spot

but as the games have been going along, i still think dumont has the edge over andreas

I agree and I think thats a strong possibility even if Engqvist has proved more so far in the AHL.. What matters is the present and Dumont has been way more impressive during the camp than Engqvist.
