decisions being made difficult doesn't necessarily mean better. it could be difficult because everyone is awful...

the fact that the decision was made easy because erixon and del zotto have been significantly better than guys like valentenko isn't a bad thing.

and nothing about today changes worry about the d without staal...concern and worry is the same now as it was the 1st time his injury was reported.

Calgary traded Regehr to Buffalo and made them take Kotalik as well.

Seems like Del Z and Erixon haven't been all that spectacular, to me at least... seemed like Val was worse, by a long shot.

Just me then I guess.

I went to the game last night, and MDZ looked good. So did Erixon. A few mistakes here and there, but overall they looked like they could/should stick.

VTank looked lost. I was very disappointed.

Rangers should consider themselves very fortunate to have a top 4 of Staal, Girardi, McD and Sauer... 4 young studs with bright futures ahead. Then you have Erixon and Del Zotto in the wings, McIlrath and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few here...

Obviously more preseason games to be played.

But do you guys believe Bell will break our top 6? Whether Staal is healthy or not. Bell has looked impressive to me both games so far, and I see he has had some NHL playing time under his belt.

I agree.. This is one of the top 10 best NHL defense right now and can get even better in the coming years.

Valentenko's hockey sense is that of a moron. Amazing he continues to get rated so high on some boards prospect polls.

Assuming Staal will be ready to go I'm not worried. MDZ and Erixon don't need to be all that spectacular considering they aren't vying for top 4 spots.

Was hoping Yogan would play with the Whale but a full year in junior will probably be best in the long run. He'll only be an overager by less than a month.

Yogan to the OHL is the best move for him. Let him dominate this year as an overager. He missed nearly a full year so this is fine.

To be honest, and I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but I thought Bell has played better than Erixon has. To me, Erixon just hasn't looked steady. Last year I could say without a doubt that Sauer and McD were ready for the NHL. I can't say the same about Erixon. Give him some time in Hartford and he'll be the first call up.

Bell has been solid defensively and been able to provide some offense. He pinches at the right time and hasn't been caught out of position.

So, who make the 3rd line RW spot?

MZA, Hagelin or Bourque?
