Welcome to the Jackets.

Falcons sign D'alvise and Dainton

http://www.falconsahl.com/index.php?id=1819

Pretty sure Dainton will be the starter in Chicago. D'alvise has a chance to make the Falcons, if not he will help Chicago with scoring.

Is it just me, or does that make for one heck of a commentary on the overhaul Springfield's received this year?

It must be you, because everyone knows the Blue Jackets don't pay any attention to their AHL/development program.

What do you Springfield fans think of your roster? Do you think playoffs?

I think it makes a big statement about the fact the Jackets went out and made an effort to put a good team together here in Springy. The fact D'alvise who was one of the better players when he was not injured quite possibly will not even crack the lineup is a big deal.

As for predictions. I hate to get too excited before the season begins...because of the past 13 seasons. I do feel good about the team though. Hoping for playoffs. My prediction is playoffs, 2nd in the division, probably 5th seed. Hoping of course to be under-predicting!

2012 AHL All-Star Classic will be held in Atlantic City, NJ. The skills competition will be held Jan 29th with the game Jan 30th, 2012.

Tickets go on sale Monday at 12pm. Ranging in price from $52-32 which includes tickets to both days events.

My thought on the location...it is not an AHL city, so in my opinion it makes very little sense.

Chicago Express have their goaltender (unless Dainton is loaned elsewhere).

#CBJ signed G Paul Dainton to be their swing man between AHL Springfield and the low-low minors. York and Sanford expected to fill AHL.

By the sounds of it there were a lot of good performances at the Traverse City tourny. I would say that Savard and Kubalik have a real good chance to stick with the Jackets, and other than the guys going back to juniors, the Falcons fans are going to get a good look at a few of these guys.

My guess is that unless Cam really turns heads in camp that he will end up back in Springfield. His problem is more of a forwards numbers game. But, should a few guys under-perform in Columbus, or the dreaded injury bug hit, he could be on the short list to be called up.

I did not mention Johan since he is ineligible to play in the A.

Adam Pineault (remember him?) agrees to a tryout contract with Springfield.

Wasn't he in camp this year and in a preseason game or two? Or am I going crazy (or crazier)?

I'd hate to hate to be the guy to make the roster cuts in Springfield this year. If I lived in Western Mass, I'd have season tickets!

HG would know more about it than me but apparently the numbers are off from last year's totals.

Just like the CBJ, they are going to have to win the fans back.

Last I knew season ticket sales were down. They trying to get people to buy/renew seats with the contest over the past few months. Chance to win a game worn Falcons jersey each month and the grand prize is a trip to Columbus for a game.

The comment about having to win fans back is correct. Also the economy is bad, people have had to cut back on non-necessities.

You mean going to a hockey game is not a necessity? Are you sure?? Not sure I could take it.. But regretfully a reality.

I know, I think of hockey as one of the neccesities, like electricity, food, water

Hopefully Rooster, Holden & St. Pierre clear. We really could use the help after the pre-season we had.
