Rinne went off to the dressing room just a few minutes ago. They blew the play dead immediately, but no penalties were called, the puck was still in play, and no players were lying on the ice injured. Rinne pushed his mask up to the top of his head, was hanging his head facing the ice but not hunched over, and the ref escorted him over to the bench. I'd imagine he was bleeding since they blew the play dead to get him off the ice. There was a broken stick on the ice, so maybe a piece of that got him.
Very nice period! Looking pretty aggressive on the forecheck
This team is at its best when it is pressuring with two or three skaters on the forecheck. We won't be running and gunning very often, but we will create havoc when the other team has the puck in their own zone.
Shooooo...That's about as far from the trap as it gets. Noel's falling into the same trap Ramsay and Anderson fell into before him with this team, and that's being super aggressive on offense and notsamuch on defense.
Really impressed with the Hornqvist goal. That's a real blue collar goal right there. Never stop fighting for it

If you liked that you'll love Hornqvist. That's essentially how he scores his points. Every now and then he'll get a goal off of a shot, but typically it's from battling. Your blood will boil every time you see him cross checked or punched or slew footed behind the play without a call. He'll push back and mouth off and tell the refs to pay attention. A Detroit fan told a fan before the play offs (I think a Ducks fan) that they will learn to hate Horny because he's "Holmstrom with balls"
In all seriousness though, I was really afraid I'd watch this game and be secretly rooting for the jets to myself....But I haven't one bit. I want to see them get crushed, and crushed badly. it's really funny how its worked out.

It's refreshing. For years watching the Thrashers...It's like watching the Bolshoi Ballet on ice. All speed and precision. Not much sandpaper at all. Then I see this where guys are in there battling, and I love it!
Okay. I am hoping for you guys that Ellis is just "nervous"....first home game... He is a liability during your game. I was interested in seeing him play tonight, but has been dissapointing to say the least. I know he has TONS of skill, and maybe just having an "OFF" night.

I've liked him on the powerplay. He has a way of sneaking into areas without being noticed. Nearly got him a goal
Ive thought Ellis has looked good, dont know what you are seeing RWAB...
I agree. I think there have been some spots where his inexperience has shown, but nothing too serious. Ellis on the powerplay could be freakin' deadly.
Tootoo has looked great, I have really liked Ekholms play. And Stortini is a standout. Wilson, Leggy, Horny, SK, Erat have all played well and looked good on the PP.
