OT - Coming to Pittsburgh this weekend from Montreal

Hey guys,

It will be my first visit to Pittsburgh this weekend.
I'll be attending the game between the Pens and the Bolts (1st row baby) and the game between the Steelers and the Jaguars.

I checked the thread with all the links for getting to know Pittsburgh, but can you suggest any places to go see (to take pics) and maybe a good shopping mall in downtown Pittsburgh for the girls that are coming too. We're planning to go eat at the Outback steakhouse in PNC Park (I was told it's opened all day?).

Also what's good on a Saturday night (club, bar) in the city? Any good party this weekend?

Also while I'm at it, since I'm greek, I heard there's a small greek community. Is there any stores/restos/places?

Thanks in advance.

Might wanna go to mount washington, really nice view of Downtown to take some pictures. Its right next to Station Square which could be a nice shopping spot for you guys. Are you a steeler fan or just going to the game cause you're here?

I'm a Steelers fan as well.
But I love my Pens alot more

It was a good opportunity for us to come this weekend because the university final exams are 2 months from now and we noticed that both the Pens and Steelers are playing home.

I go every year to both Pittsburgh @ Montreal games, so it will be nice to be chearing for the home side for once

Actually if you are by PNC park and you go in between the park and Heinz Field you can take some nice pictures by the river with the entire city as the back drop. Also there is a mike and tony's in the heart of the city on Liberty Ave I think.
If you are looking to go out for a little night life I recommend the south side. The south side is on East Carson street which is a strip of town that used to be heavily populated by steel mill workers and as a result has about 2 bars on every block for 15 blocks. Now adays its a little more hip and trendy but still a fun place to go with a wide range of bars at varying prices. If clubbing is more your thing you may want to try the Strip District. Most of the joints are on or around Penn Ave. This is a little more pricey in my opinion but my friends seem to like going there.

for clubs and/or parties I highly recommend South Side (Carson street), or Strip District (Penn Avenue). You can get some amazing pictures of the city from Mt. Washington (Grandview Avenue), and try to get a picture out of the Fort Pitt Tunnels when first entering the city, breath taking view. As for shopping try Station Square, it's right under Mt. Washington. Enjoy the games!

Paparazzi's is a greek bar on saturdays and sundays. It's in the South Side on Carson.

Paparazzi's isn't fun on weekends unless you're a suburbanite over 40.

Places I like in the South Side: Lava Lounge, Z Lounge [tendy bars], Tiki Lounge [jock bar on weekends], Dee's Cafe [punk pool bar], The Smiling Moose [Punk Bar].

You might wanna check out Shadyside if South Side isn't your thing... it's a bit pricey and a bit more uppity, but it's still fun. In Shadyside I recommend Le Mardi Gras, although some people perfer Club Havana, The Shady Grove, or Doc's.

Actually, I hate Paparazzi's. My girlfriend is greek so I ended up there a few times.

I like all the South Side places you listed except the Tiki Lounge. Bar 11 can be good too.

Forgot about Bar 11 ... that place is a lot of fun, provided you don't mind it being a bit crowded.
