You read my mind. I was just going to post that before I took one last look and noticed you mentioned this.

No, no, no. You got it all wrong. Once both Purinton and Jaime are out of the organization, the Rangers are sure to be Cup contenders.

Just info gathering here...

Smith was the GM when Lundmark and Brendl were taken, but who was the chief scout and/or assistant GM at that time (1999)?

Pleau left 6/97. NYR.com doesn't give the info on past assistants. Thanks.

I'm not joking. I thought about it like this, if you put Prucha in that first line now has someone, no matter how small and Euro you want to call him, that will scrap and fight for the line. The second line of Rucinsky-Rucchin-Hossa plays hard regardless. Now you have Lundmark off a third/fourth line and one of those is bound to play harder. If he doesn't pull that cute ****, its 2-2 with Kaspar at fault for the second. Maybe you can't see it, but theres a tremendous change from when he is in the lineup to when someone else is in his spot. I think if Lundmark was gone it'd be a hell of a lot easier to duplicate wins like the one in Jersey.

I believe he was a Martin Madden Sr. pick.

Am I the only one who would prefer a tough defenseman for both of these guys? If we can't get some D in the trade I say just take a pick.

I agree that we need one, BUT I am at a loss for who that D-man might be. It would have to be somebody better than Strudwick ( OBVIOUSLY) but who can fight just as well. Right now we are softer than a noodle in oatmeal.

Taffe and Sean O'Donnell for Lundmark

The Yotes are forced to make a trade. They have 1 too many people on the NHL roster and dont want to send Sjostrom who is the only waiver exempt guy down.
