Boy, there have been a lot of 'em. I tried doing a rookie report division-by-division, but there were just too many of them.
Most have been a tad disaapointing, though it's awfully early in the season. The most impressive and surprising rookie by far has been Marc-Andre Fleury. That 18-year-old is schooling veteran goal-scorers left and right. Watch him for 30 seconds on the highlight reels and you'll KNOW this kid is for real.
Funny, I considered the same thing. I remember the last time a Pens rookie came in and killed everyone to start off his career. Then the Avs came to town gave him a beating and it went downhill for him pretty much from that point on. Though he's rebounded quite nicely since then with a different club. Who was it you ask? Patrick Lalime.
