Same with my Isles, especially if Staios gets signed.

I wouldn't mind him being signed. From what I've heard he's done really well in the preseason.

He's the least Burke type player on their defense so yeah he's probably out.

Real shame too. Any team that gives him a chance will have a good #3 defenseman on their hands for a long time.

Gunnarsson has been the best looking D in camp but likely is the easiest D to move and get a good return. Not sure who they'd be looking at from NYR though, but I know Burke was interested in Brandon Dubinsky a few years ago during the Kessel trade saga. Unsure if he would fit and how it would work out re: value and what-have-you.

I consider gunnarsson our #3 defenseman, and will be effing pissed that we'd only have one 2-way dman on our blueline in phaneuf... and even then he's questionable defensively.

I think that Burke would probably want the Rangers to continue to have a depth issue on defence.

Why else would we trade good solid young roster players who have proven they can play at the NHL level IE Gunnar for prospects or picks? that wouldn't make sense. You only make this move if you can improve the roster in another area

Nothing, Boyle fills no needs on the Leafs.

I think it would be foolish for us to deal Gunnarson. He plays in all situations, can eat up minutes, he is young and just plays a solid quiet game that can complement almost any defensemen.

I would rather us trade Franson if we had to trade someone. Or Komisarek but that's improbable.

My move: let Gardiner develop a little in AHL or send Aulie down.

That's one way to look at this rumour. The other way is that Burke is trying to move Gunnar because he doesn't want to send Komisarek to the minors, where he belongs.

Scoring,Size, A good bottom 6 player. He is someone i would love on the Habs. A line composed of AK-Boyle-Eller would float my boat.

What would you want from the Habs for Aulie ?

He's never been amazing and he never will be but he's one of those guys that just does everything well. He can move the puck well and he plays an effective defense game. He isn't physical but he uses his body (which is fairly large) in a non-physical way to play defense well.

Top 4 guy if he's given the time and the trust
