He was very steady, carried the puck up the ice effectively when he needed to. Not in the same way that Subban and Beaulieu do, but he looked comfortable doing it. I'd say he was our best defenseman last night.

Just wondering what's happening to Fitzgerald...how come he wasn't cut? If there's one guy that had to be cut it's him, he's not even signed by us. So in reality, the Dogs had 1 player officially with them prior to the start of the camp, and he's not even cut. Strange.
7 guys starts the camp with the Dogs at the Bell Complex...can't wait to see the scrimmage...

Let me get this straight....freakin Dany Massé still has 1 year of contract....Lefebvre has 3 years of contract and DeSimone has to try-out to get one from the Dogs? Really?
Habs also better be aware of what's going on in the NCAA as far as goaltending is concerned for next year....'cause Mayer will never be the answer. Delmas might not be....and Aaron Dell and a couple of guys will be available. This guy also deserve a contract and also based on the fact that we once gave a contract to freakin Loic Lacasse....for whoever thinks I'm Q biased....I'm also capable of not liking those guys when it's needed....

Gotta agree here...seemed to me he did more than enough to earn a contract at this point.

Been on de DeSimone train since the beginning. Even when it was not really looking good, you see that the guy has some serious instincts. Not even thinking NHL at this point, but can be a serious 2-way contributor at the AHL level. I have no doubt about this. And keep wondering why he's not signed yet. At worst, if I'm a AHL team, I call tonight and give him a contract right away.

They would be crazy not to give DeSimone a contract. If they don't some other team will as it looks like he has upside. Like you say Masse will never really get better he is borderline AHL talent on a weak team at the most.

Massé would not have the ECHL career that Thomas Beauregard had....and Beauregard wasn't good in the AHL. Massé is ECHL material. Period.

Capgeek has us at 48 with Campoli, and I really don't think Gallagher is getting a contract. No reason why that should stop us from signing DeSimone if need be.

I think DeSimone is going to eventually get a contract but later. He will probably start as a AHL try-out and get signed by the habs at later date!
