Our PP should be awesome this season.

Apparently his arm fell off, therefore, a minor upper body injury.

Read certainly looks like he has game, but I worry about where his body will be at later in the season. I think he is just going to bridge the gap until we trade for someone at the deadline.

Undisclosed upper body injury. Will probably miss at least one game.

Rookie Brayden Schenn left the game with an undisclosed injury after playing only 11-plus minutes. Holmgren said he doesn't think the injury is serious but Schenn might have to miss Thursday's game against New Jersey.

Eh every rookie has that to worry about. We'll cross that bridge when it happens.

True, but most AHL players don't top out at 40-ish games. And that hurts us on the cap with this one-suspension-per-week clip we're running at.

I've watched most of the Flyers games this preseason on Gamecenter or Versus. That is how much of his last preseason with the Kings was. He seemed to get good chances but just couldn't bury any. Other times, he would just disappear. It will click in soon. I hope he's able to make the team though!

Jagr is exceeding my expectations so far. I hope this is a true reflection of what we can expect through the season and beyond.
At least 5 games yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if he gets more.

That was a bad hit, can't defend that one.

I have watched that Sestito clip numerous times.
I agree with Mckenzie, this hit was much worse. he lined him up and tried to put him into the 3rd row. Stupid, dumb, reckless. Whatever words you want to use, you can use. A dozen games. minimum. Wouldnt shock me if hes put on waivers after this. He really has been unimpressive this preseason. Hes been running around trying to run guys before tonight as well. I know he wants to win a job and is trying to impress but hes going about it the wrong way.
Send him to the AHL. Doubt anyone claims him anyway.

The team is deep with wingers now.

Jagr and Giroux looked good last night.

Maybe you put JvR with Briere. Something like:

Voracek-Giroux-Jagr
JvR-Briere-Hartnell

as the top 2 lines. I really like what I'm seeing with Simmonds, but he seems attached to the hip of Schenn on the 3rd line, so I'd assume that's the role Lavy wants with him.

Between Avery, Tortorella, Bryz, and Pronger, 24/7 will be great.

What about Bob? Guy has diarrhea of the mouth. I think he's going to monopolize the program....

Giroux, Jagr, & Voracek looked good together. They had one shift in the 2nd that was amazing. I know it's really early, but our powerplay is going to be great.

I like Read, he's smart, fast, and buries it when he gets the chance.

They might struggle for the first month, but after they gel, it should be fun to watch.

Tom Sestito (PHI) amongst those on waivers today. No one from yesterday's list was claimed. Full list on tsn.ca shortly.

Flyers down 3 players in camp's final week

The worst thing that can happen to a hockey team is to sail through training camp unscathed, then come down to the final week and get crushed by injuries and suspensions.

That’s what happened to the Flyers, who are now without three players in the final week of camp.
Brayden Schenn, who has an upper body injury, is now joined by James van Riemsdyk and Andreas Nodl, both of whom have lower body injuries.

None of the three is expected to play in Thursday’s home exhibition game against New Jersey. Nodl is possible for Thursday, general manager Paul Holmgren said.

If you think too hard about that while staring at your hand, this happens:

The Flyers denied this, but it was absolutely because of the suspension. He'll probably get recalled during weekdays to serve whatever suspension he gets, and no one in their right mind would claim a suspended player.
