I like him a lot. I thought he got better with every game he played this preseason and yesterday he seemed a lot more confident and IMO it was his best performance yet. Hopefully he does well in Hamilton!
I remember him getting invited, reading that he was chummy-chummy with MaxPac, had no expectations at all.
Now I have expectations, that is how good is was on the ice. When you start asking "Who's that number?" and trying to find him on the ice at every shift, you know that he has made a good impression.
My question would be: Is DeSimone the reason Trotter got waived? Or to send Trotter to the Dogs we don't have any choice but to made him pass the waiver wire?

Yes he and Pac were teammates in the USHL, they were the top 2 scorers on the team.
DeSimone shouldn't be the reason for Trotter getting waived, both should be in Hamilton.

Trotter and Dumont can play wing or center, both played mostly on the wing during their time in Hamilton but it also depends on injuries and final cuts. Fortier, Leblanc and Nattinen are all injured at this time.
The Bulldogs announced today that forward Philip DeSimone and defenceman Olivier Dame-Malka have been signed to one-year, two-way American Hockey League / ECHL contracts.
Wow Dame-Malka aswell? I didn't see him play but was excited at the possibility of signing him, nice hitting prospect with a shot never hurts to have in the AHL.
Happy for Olivier. Thought he had somehow an ordinairy camp as far as I've seen him but no doubt that he was pretty good last year in the Q. So happy for him in the end.
Im guessing McFadden was a no go, too bad I thought he might get a contract
McFadden, DeHart, and Winnett are all at Hamilton's camp, but with the signing of Dame-Malka and Fitzgerald, there may not be room for another d-man. With injuries to Leblanc and Nattinen, there may be a spot for Winnett at least in the short term (could end up in ECHL after that).

Who is this fitzgerald dude? I've never heard of him in my life
I don't know if they'll tender a contract to McFadden, they might if they want to keep an eye on him at the ECHL level.
I think Winnet's performance in the scrimmages should warrant him an AHL level contract, we'll see there. I really liked Winnett in his draft year, so I'm pulling for him.
I really like this DeSimone kid.....Fast, not affraid to get his nose dirty and a smart hockey player. I also love the play of Gallagher. Not to get a head of myself but he reminds me a lot of St-Louis!
I'm glad I got to watch Gallagher play in Halifax. He was driving to the net and wasn't afraid to do the dirty work it seemed. Very impressed with him.
