Our PK's been good statistically - but it LOOKED sooo much better tonight

One word - PRESSURE. They were even noting it on the broadcast that Hardy & Co. have been trying to figure out the reinvented PK by watching other teams due to the extra 4 feet of space, and they felt that based on analysis that they could move twoard a more aggressive PK effort.

Sometimes I wonder if they do read these boards for pointers.

In any case, it was great to see and I hope they keep it up.

The Kings also have many more options to go with on the PK. You will see Conroy and Demitra or Roenick and Frolov or Belanger and Kostopoulos. That helps a lot and doesn't tire out the penalty killing forwards by having more options on hand to put out on the ice during shorthanded situations.

The solid defensive play of Norstrom, Miller, Gleason and Weaver should also be noted.

I agree, the penalty kill looks better and better. I noticed the pressure in the detroit game also.

Yeah, me too... by Detroit... by far the best opposing PK I have seen in the new NHL.
