Campoli-Gorges
Gill-Subban
Spacek-Yemelin

Is how it will start, by the end of the season could be:

Markov-Yemelin
Spacek-Subban
Gill-Gorges

Maybe the word he was looking for was talent.

I mean you can work your ass off trying to get the puck out of the guy, but if you can't.. it's cause you don't have the talent to do so... or he's better than you.

Markov - Emelin
Gill - Subban
Campoli - Gorges
Spacek - Weber

Campoli and Gorges D-pairing will be called the "UNDER-SIZED, UNDER-RATED" D-pairing. In about two months time. Those two are meant for each other.

Markov and Yemelin
Gill and Subban
Campoli and Gorges

you got 3 pairings with 100% chemistry right there.

I will be extremely disappointed if Yemelin doesn't make the opening night roster.

There's no way Spacek, Weber or Diaz should be playing ahead of him, IMO.

That Kostitsyn-Desharnais-Gallagher line as the potential to be special, and a real pain in the *** for opposing defender! Haha! I can't wait to see them in action.

That also surprises me.

Could Martin be thinking about a rotation on the 3rd pairing... playing the Spacek-Diaz duo against fast and skilled teams and the Woywitka-Yemelin duo against bigger and more physical teams?

Also, we have to remember that Yemelin doesn't speak English yet, and that's not a small thing. Unless he's paired with Markov, he just can't communicate with his D partner. That's something we have to take in account.

this might seem out of character for me to say this but, isn't that line a little small?

or just lopsided on the left side?

so thats 36 players still at camp, do you think it will fall down to 30 after thursday game?

Its pretty easy to get from 36 to 27 woywitka, henry, nash, bournival, leblanc, bishop, fortier, schultz, nattinen after that who knows?

Yeah, it is. It may sound weird, but that's exactly why I think it'll be hard to play against them! It's so frustrating being a big guy playing against a smaller player with skills who isn't afraid of you!

I see them drawing tons of penalties from frustrated bigger D!

On D
Woywitka and Diaz should fight for the 8th spot on D since Markov is out.
Weber should be no7

At F
If Eller is not ready to start, Gallagher and Palushaj will fight for that 3rd line spot
Blunden is probably the 13th forward replacement for White and Engvist is the 4th line center

Same goes for me, I don't get why Diaz anyway, while he wasn't bad he was not better than Yemelin.

My ideal pairings was the latter but this is good thinking. Don't know how much more experience Subban needs from Gill but it certainly wouldn't hurt to twin them for a few more months. I know Gorges was transformed in the 2010 Playoffs.

As for Campoli, I honestly don't know where he fits in once Markov returns. Of those 3 pairs, Spacek-Subban is the only one I would modify. Campoli-Subban would be fast to return to position, quick on the puck and out of their zone; but is that the best partnership for Subban?

No he wasn't. But he was better offensively than Weber, and not a lot worse defensively. Smaller and (even) less physical, but smarter and quicker and much more decisive. He's older, so that's a factor, but he's also new to NA hockey. Either way I found him tantalizing, a lot like Streit. He has the offensive skills to be a point producer, but can he take a regular shift on D? Will he survive if he does?

MY guesses :

Gill - Subban (Not really a top pairing, but will play against top lines..)
Markov - Yemelin (Markov is good against anybody, and I think communication is needed when you play together)
Campoli - Gorges (I don't know why, but I think they will play great hockey together)

Spacek - Diaz
Weber
Woywitka

"Tomas Plekanec aurait de nouvelles responsabilités, lui qui était au centre du premier trio, en compagnie de Michael Cammalleri et d'Erik Cole, en plus d'évoluer à la pointe, sur l'attaque à cinq."

I don't see why Diaz would start in Montreal. If he were physical, which he certainly wasn't, I could understand the dilemma but despite playing relatively well, seems obvious to me he needs to adapt his style to NA rinks and speed. He should start in Hamilton, especially now that Campoli was signed.

Because you generally want someone with a better shot than a 9 year old girl on the point.

Gomez can do nice passes, though. PK is the shooter on that PP.
