Poorly worded. He doesn't have to clear waivers until next year and there's no such thing as cutting someone under a contract in the pre-season in the NHL...the buy-out windows has passed.
He was sent down to WBS, which shouldn't surprise anyone. A couple months in the AHL will do him worlds of good after that clown knocked him out last season.
