Amazing night of baseball. Congrats to the team and Charlie for getting the franchise records.

http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/standings/ind...dings#20110901

Beginning of the month, Braves had an 8.5 game lead over the Cards. Wow.

Also, lol Red Sux.

Francona and Gonzalez should both be fired.

But the kid will have to learn how to lose before he deserves to have his team win. Before he was born the Braves wheeled off a decade and a half Division Championships... now he has to pay the piper I suppose.

When I was approximately his age my Phillies were losing 23 straight games -- which I personally attended many of them -- and they were perpetual cellar dwellers... and then they looked to be good and blew a 7 1/2 game lead IIRC in the lst month (freak you, Chico Ruiz)... And before anyone asks; NO, I didn't cry I just biatched and kept coming back for more losing.

LOL last month we were all complaining how it was all over and the races were DONE... the six Divisions and the two WILD CARD teams were all sewed up.

There is no such thing as "nothing to play for."

Papelbon is not a big-time closer anymore. He was at one time, but it was at that time. It was a different time than this one.

Sox were 77-0 when leading after 8, too.

Yankees hadn't blown a 7-run lead after 8 innings since like 1953 or something.

That was phenomenal beyond words. TBay down 7-0? No problem. Orioles within a strike of losing? Hit, hit, win. Extra innings. Wow.
