Hamonic's Ceiling?

I am wondering what you local cronies think about Hamonic's ceiling.

We all know what he did last year, but I am thinking this year he could potentially crack 40 points - something like 12G 29 A - especially if he sticks on NYI PP1 with Streit, JT, Moulson and Nielsen.

In other words, Hamonic could be a beast and eventually be the #1 dman patrolling Long Island for a while.

Yessum?

It does look like Hamonic might be PP1, at least from the preseason line, which will definitely raise his point totals somewhat this. That's the least of my concerns though. I'm looking for more of the same with some improvement defensively this year. His offensive output is just icing on the cake. This guy is a serious talent, and hopefully will pan out to be the first line defenseman a lot of people are thinking his ceiling is.

I wouldn't pick him for fantasy this year... maybe in a keeper league though.

I don't think Hamonic will see first unit PP time, that most likely will go to Streit-<Forward>. He might get some second unit time but even then that's not a guarentee.

I would stay away from Hamonic this season for pool purpose unless there is alot of players taken and you want a guy who has a good chance to get 30+ points

I'd say his ceiling is 40ish points, which I do not think he will achieve this year.

I have him as a future all star. or at least a bubble all star.

He is quickly becoming my favorite Islander.

I think he'll top out at around 50 points, as well a play solid defense, also playing with an edge. He's gonna be a good one.

Ive got the same question....im looking to pick him up for a fantasy league where points are all that comes into play. Do you see him getting PP time? Also, De Haan is available, whats his ceiling?

This year stay away from De Haan(he might be called up but unless we really injury riddled I don't see him playing much)

As for Hamonic, possible 2nd PP unit. 30-35 points.

Long term I am guessing Hamonic will be a 40+ point guy(don't see him ever cracking 50 other then the odd 1 or 2 seasons)

De Haan if he does make it, 40+ points(probably slightly more high end point wise then Hamonic but a much bigger risk)

Hamonic went in the 14th round of my keeper draft (7 rounds kept already, this was the 7th round after keepers) about where I was hoping to snag him but some ****** took him 2 slots in front of me.

I have him around 33-37 points this year and 50 long term. I would not be surprised to see him get 40 this year as I expect we will have a high powered offense but I can only hope we dont have as many injuries as we have had the last few years and thus less ice time possibly for Hamonic. If he ends up on the first pairing for an extended stretch, all bets are off and 40+ is very possible imo

In standard Yahoo leagues he is a great 4th defense to pick (or as the 5th on the bench if deep enough. He will likely give you over 100 PIMs, will improve on his totals - 5G, 21A in only about 3/4 of a season, and was a plus player as a rookie.

7G, 30A, +10 and 100 PIMs is a terrific result for your 4th D-Man. He is also a good fit for the ESPN league. If your league is points only, you pass on him.

Pumped with my Dmen this year in fantasy:

Weber
Burns
Seabrook
Hamonic

and drafted KO in the 25th round of my draft, seems like everyone forgot about him

I took him in my rotisserie league this year. I was hurting BAD for PIMs so I think he will help me out quite a bit. If he puts up 30-35 points and gets me 110 PIMs I will be very happy with my selection.

139 points, one goal in mid air.

I wish I watched Bobby Orr live. But Hamonic will get 50. He's a lot more deep in game than I anticipated. I wanna see him fight and hit mercilessly when he reaches 50 points in a few years. The kid has the attitude and skill to do it.
