MZA has looked really good. Question to those who have been able to watch every preseason game: has he been tried with Richie and Gaborik yet? I think it's at least worth checking out.

Imagine an SVT Sports HD channel with the rights to SEL, Worlds and the NHL (Also Olympics and WJC's but they have those right now). They could raise my taxes 10% just for that service!

Thanks. And thanks to all for the translations all day. Beautiful language. I loved it when I visited Stockholm. I've gotta go back to Sweden at some point.

10%? What are you talking about? Potatoes, weed, vodka and that channel. What else would you need? Ok, maybee a roof and a mattress on the floor. But what then?

As much as I like Hagelin and Bourque's games, I think they need to play in the AHL this season. You can see Hagelin has the talent to be here, as does Bourque, but he seasoning the AHL would provide will help them a lot.

Joel was a little bit sad about now getting into position to score today. He thought that he spent too much time around the boards.

Henrik said he almost cried at the announcements before the game, and that he normally was very focused before games, but was totally emotional before and during the first period. Then he kind of got into game mode and could enjoy the rest of the game.

The commentators were Chris Härenstam and Josef Boumedienne. "Bom bom" is my new favorite commentator, damn that guy knows hockey. He is apperently a real hockey nerd as he said, who watches hours of hockey every day, which is quite cool for somebody who is still active in his career. I guess its a no brainer what he will do when he hangs his skates up...

i think it would be really interesting to see how MZA looks with gabbi and richie. i'm sure it'll happen at some point with the line juggling.

Didn't really like his accent though, typical lame stockholm-accent.

Random Observations:

Loved Erixon Del Zotto on the PP. Can't remember the last time we had a guy who just ripped shots from the point on the PP like that.

Bourque looked really good. Really excited for this kid. Reminds me a lot of Callahan.

MZA looked good.

Lundqvist had a few big saves.

PK was good, especially for a large rink.

Lundqvist played fantastic. Special day for him. The first goal was terrible (probably the worst goal I've seen a Rangers goalie give up this pre-season) but he really bounced back. He faced legitimate scoring chances and was truly tested (which was good to see).

Del Zotto did okay. I'm still not sold on him for a spot on this NHL team. Too often he goes for the big outlet pass and fails. Overall, outside of a few bad plays and an untimely penalty, it was his best game.

Still unimpressed with Erixon. I wouldn't give him a spot on the team.

I've been completely underwhelmed by Bourque but he actually played a solid game. Best game yet. Still don't think he has a spot on this team (sorry kid, I don't care who your father is).

And McIlrath played another solid defensive game. My opinion, keep him on the team. He's earned a spot. Brings nice size and physical play to a team that needs it.

Great to see Lundqvist get the win in front of his countries fans.

Yeah, very annoying to listen to. He did share a lot of interesting stuff though, which made up for it. Was rather humorous when someone had him mixed up with Renberg earlier in this thread.

The opposite ends of the spectrum.

Avery thinks he is too good for the kids to high-five them, Christensen is worried that he will dissapoint the kids with a sub-par high-five.

Zuccarello is a bad fit with Richards and Gaborik, but he could definitely grow into a top 6 role on this team.
