OH ok! I never thought he would play in the NHL this year... I misunderstood. The way I heard it on tsn or maybe elsewhere was that he had to be signed by tomorrow or he goes back in the draft. Broadcasting information isn't what it used to be.
Honestly, the right move was made in sending BG back down. I wonder if he has a bit of Chris Higgins in him for the fact that he gets tons of chances but can never bury them....but the again he did score 40+ 2 years in a row...I just hope in translates to NHL! And Bournival is going to be good!
Next year's training camp is going to be pretty darn interesting. Of course, lots and lots can and will happen between now and then with regards to player movement and regression/progress, but looking at some guys...
Gallagher and Bournival may be NHL ready.
Leblanc might be NHL ready given that he's spending this year in Hamilton.
Avtsin will likely either be close to NHL ready, or be on a plane back to Russia.
Engqvist may be NHL ready depending on where he spends this year.
Dumont should be primed for fourth line duty.
And who knows how guys like Fortier, Conboy, and more will play.
Then on D, Beaulieu and Nash will challenge openings, and we'll have a better idea how Tinordi is progressing and how much time he may need in Hamilton.
Notable players missing: Gorges and AK as UFA. We can expect some changes next year. Perhaps even at 2nd line center position(if another bad year by Gomez). There will be room for the players to try out and for some UFA fillers.
