At this point I'm 99% sure the forwards are set, so none of them.

I think Bourque deserves a spot.

If any rookie makes it, it's gonna be Weise.

False. If any rookie makes it, it's going to be Hagelin.

errrr these are the options? EC, Weise, Avery , where are they cause thats the decision

If the others did not exist then Mitchell since Hagelin and Bourque need some time in the AHL

can you delete the poll and add the others. Giving a option of choosing one spare or two?

I am going to say Mitchell because MZA is going to play. There are no forward spots in the top-12. Therefore they will not stunt the development of Hagelin or Bourque by making them the 13th or 14th forwards. They will send them down and let them develop.

They might, might keep Mitchell as a spare forward. The other two are promising, but Hartford bound to start this season.

I doubt it happens but outside chance both EC and Avery go on waivers and get picked up giving Mitchell the spare spot in my eyes

Bourque and Hagelin both would be well served getting lots of minutes in Hartford. I've been impressed in flashes with both. More so with Bourque. But neither player is quite there yet.

Mitchell has shown more and is the most ready of the three.

If it had to be one of those three, I say Mitchell for no other reason than he would have to pass through waiver.

Can't imagine anyone claims Avery. No one wanted him on re-entry waivers a couple years ago, and his production has taken a hit since that time.

not sure what you mean by 'last spot'. i dont think any spots are up for grabs.... the bottom six will be zucc/step/feds/boyle/prust/rupp.

however, if anyone who is a waiver danger is not to go down i'd like it to be mitchell. he seems responsible and can slot in for the odd game.

I could see Avery/Christ going down for cap flexibility reasons.

Hagelin and Borque's development are best served by putting up numbers in the minors right now.

John Mitchell has the best chance of staying with the team, but there still isn't any room for any of these guys.

Nope. Neither is going to play, Hagelin can play in Hartford but Weise has to go through waivers. Purely asset management.

Weise is confusing.

If you look, his production at the AHL level is impressive. And suggests he is more then just a banger.

He scored at a good clip the past two seasons in the AHL.

But so far, at the NHL level, he hasn't shown that ability, aside from the one play a couple games back.

He's got to stop thinking about his next fight, he isn't a fighter. He loses all his fights. And he's going to get himself hurt. He needs to focus on driving the net and pouncing on rebounds. Be a junk goal guy that can play strong down low and deep and around the net. Focus less on trying to be an agitator.

Just my opinion.

He has potential.

But if Zuccarello makes the team, im not sure who Weise plays above. Rupp? Would be the only one, maybe. But doubtful.

Tough decisions coming soon.

Like Bourque the most out of all of them, but he'd be better served playing top minutes for the Whalepack.

Out of all of them, probably Mitchell. Not a bad guy to have on the roster.

Oh I agree, I think a bunch of people deserve spots, but there are only so many forwards we can carry and play and most of these guys like Bourque are gonna be better served playing full games in the AHL instead of sitting in the pressbox/limited minutes. Other guys like Mitchell are just not gonna make it over guys like Prust, Rupp and Fedentenko, who already occupy the spots. Those guys pretty much had their spots on day 1 of camp.

I think the forward group you saw on thursday, minus EC and plus Boyle is what we are gonna see. But we already knew that.
