Ouch, that is just straght up embarassing if true.
Yeah, it is. From what I gather it´s a result of a really bad tactics chosen by the coach,, to play an open offensive game with any Slovak team against the Russian teams is a bad idea. Even the Olympic team defeated the Russians thanks to a deffense first tactics. From what Koyš said in an interview for webhokej after the game the first two lines were able to play an even game, but then the 3rd and 4th one always got scored on. Additionally after 14 minutes of playing Koyš suffered a concussion (out for weeks) and had to go to the hospital, Reway didn´t finish the game either. The other two games at the tourney went a better way, defeating Poland U18 5-0 and losing to the Hungarians 1-2 in OT and finishing 2nd in the tournament. There will be a rematch of the game with Russia already on this Thursday at the Red Bulls U16 Cup in Austria. However it´s questionable whether we will see a better result as half the team is injured/sick after the Poland tourney including all forwards from the top line in Koyš, Reway and Torok, additionally D Pohanka, D Martin Pavlíček, D Matej Smolka and F Šimon Beták are out as well.
Slovakia U16- Hungary U18 1-2 OT

Daniel Petruška (both P.H.K Prešov)
Róbert Varga (HK 99´Ružinov Bratislava)
Dávid Ambróz (HC 05 B. Bystrica)
Matúš Belovič (HC Nitra).
I´m not sure whether will really gonna play only with 19 players
EDIT: Ambróz and Belovič were missing from the roster and now have been added.
Due to the weird sheduling at the U16 Red Bull Cup the Russians have already traveled home today after their win over Slovakia , while it was only the first game for our team.
Russia U16- Slovakia U16 7-1 (0-4,0-3,1-0)
SVK goal: Šoltés
The score is still too high, but 7 goals down from last time is definitely an improvment from last time, especially considering the players we are missing at this tournament. Next game against Russia U16 this season is sheduled for November btw.
The U16 team plays Austria U17 next tomorrow.
EDIT: Btw Martin Reway will join Tomas Torok to play for MHC Martin in 2010/2011 season. Good to see him playing at top level in the country finally.

MHC Martin will have two 16 year-olds? With apologies if this has been asked already, what is Martin Reway's height?
They will both of course play for Martin´s youth system, probably U18, Torok maybe also in U20. I meant top level in the country in yout hockey as Reway has been playing U18 1.liga mostly. And it would be more two 15 year olds, well Reway turns 16 in January, however young Torok will be 15 for the whole season as he was born in June.
Acc. to webhokej Reway is 173cm/72kg, which makes him the smallest on the top line despite being the oldest, hopefully he will grow at least some more.
Right after I diss Slovak youth teams, the U16s win two straight and the U17s beat USA [crazy shot differential but still a win].
See, and you always complain when I diss anything about Slovak hockey, it seems you should join me more often.....
The shot differential was not as crazy as it was originally claimed- it seems they didn´t get it right in any of the games, USA didn t have 64 shots- acc. to the US news report about the game the Slovak goalie Sabol made 44 saves.
Yeah, nice job! Especially considering the players missing and the shedule-playing 4 games in 4 days as the only team except for the Russians.
Unrelated to the Salzburg tournament, I´ve finally found the two rosters from the July games against the Czechs, so now we know which players did only play one of the games.
Two more goals for Matej Paulovič in HC Topoľčany's 5-2 win over HC´05 Banská Bystrica. Matej now has 3 goals and 5 assists in in 4 games and is tied for 6th in scoring in the Extraliga U18. Even more impressive has been the start by Martin Reway. Reway shares the league scoring lead with 6 goals and 6 assists in 5 games, including a 4 goal performance versus HC´05 Banská Bystrica. Patrik Koyš is tied for 26th in league scoring (third amongst 1995ers) with 5 points in his first 4 games, and like Reway has yet to be held off the scoresheet for a single game this year.

Reway played also 5 games. Not 12. According to szlh.sk
Slavia Praha, 3PTS (2+1) in 3 games for their U18 team at least acc. to the info I´ve been able to get.
It´s quite funny that he´s now playing for Slavia, which is Martin Reway´s original club, while Reway is playing for Torok´s original team this year- Martin.
Speaking of Reway after collecting 12PTS(6+6) in 5 U18 games, he´s played his first U20 Extraliga game yesterday and he picked up 2 goals and an assist in a 5-2 win over Dukla Trenčín.
Matej Paulovič from Topoľčany is also doing very well as he is 3rd overall in the U18 Extraliga scoring with 15 points (9+6) in 8 games.
Hopefully Koyš was only lacking motivation when playing for Dubnica at the start of the season as he knew he would leave for an another team in October and things will get better in Dukla.

Hopefully, it is not another talent bust... there is very high expectations to him, but like Vladimir Orszagh said - "I have seen a more talented players, but they are lost now. They forgot to work. ..." source
I stumbled upon an interesting post on another slovak forum where a player, probably a 96, said he hopes that Martin Reway won't stop playing. He said he was in a tournament in the summer and Martin Reway was there too. That player claims Reway's coaches said he drinks and smokes a lot. I don't know why but it made me laugh a little. However I hope it's not true.
Also I have noticed he didn't play since 23rd February.

Well, this is certainly (by far) not the first time an another young player has said something of that sorts about him, so at least a part of it is very likely true.
As for him not playing, it seems like there are always short time spans where he doesn´t play, but I´ve got no idea why.
Also, not so long ago, in an article in Šport about young talented players, when speaking about him, someone from MHC Martin mentioned something about a bad family situation and that they were trying to help him and found him a host family to live with in Martin.
