I didn't like what I read in rds.ca that Diaz had "doublé" (overtaken) Yemelin. I have concerns about the defensive ability of Diaz. Twice I saw forwards skate past him without his touching them because he failed to keep them to the outside. That was a technique that Serge Savard mastered after his skating was compromised by severe leg injuries. Other than PK Subban, none of the other Hab Dmen who'll play tonight (Gorges, Gill, Diaz, Campoli, Spacek) is a hard hitter.

Diaz hasn't impressed me too much either. But I wouldn't put too much weight into who's in the lineup (or what rds says for that matter). Even though it's the last game, it's still preseason.

It could also mean it's last chance for Diaz to make the team.

I have no clue either.
Diaz provides nothing to this team that Subban, Campoli, Weber and Markov don't already provide.

Yemelin is getting screwed over big-time.

That line-up tonight is missing the grit.

I feel the same.

You know, it's as if Diaz is the type of player Martin likes. Nothing against him but he doesn't play physical, that which Weber lacks and Emelin brings. On a defensive corps that's got to be considered soft, wouldn't you choose the stronger, tougher guy?

I saw Emelin failing to hit someone behind the net last game. Maybe Cammalleri and co. forgot to tell him that it's okay to hit now. He did look lost now and then during pre-season.

Interesting 2nd-3rd lines indeed
What a mess of a lineup. Gomez on the top line? Nice to see lazy gutless play is being rewarded as usual. A.Kost will be happy to play with Pleks again.

Diaz is a natural Right Dman, Spacek is a natural Lefty. I'm sure both will play on their proper sides and its just being reported wrong.

The only + player on the team, and tied for the team lead in scoring.

Strange that everyone hates Palushaj.

Could Spacek be showcase tonight? EDM. need defenceman now and he played there before.

Yeah lets trade a veteran defenseman to give his spot to a rookie.
Good idea

This is it for Kostitsyn. To give him his final run there gonna just have to put him with who he'll potentially have the most success with (Pleks and Cammy). The top 9 looks good once Eller comes back he'll center Desharnais and Cole.

You could make the whole arguement that oh y did we get Cole if hes gonna be put on the 3rd line but that shouldnt matter. They gotta place everyone in a position to succeed. And Cole is likely to succeed wherever he gets placed than Kostitsyn is. But then again when Eller comes back AK will likely get experimented on a line with him again.

Theres going to be a lot more line juggling who knows wat the final lines will end up being

C'mon, are you really surprised that Gomez is playing with Gionta and MaxPac or are you upset that they are arbitrarily listed first?

I think it's more like the Habs need defensemen, lol. Until Markov comes back and plays a good 20-30 games, trading D will be the last thing on Gauthier's mind.

better to try those lines in pre season and see what they can do then in the regular season. It s really not gonna matter if we win tonight or not.

You're a closeted Gomez fan. You find as many negative things to say about him, repeating them as often as possible, trying to change your own feelings. But you like him. You might even be in love him

I did not see all the pre-season games (I sow the first 4 games) but from what I saw, I prefer Diaz over Weber and to me this is where the race ends...

I would not be suprised to see Yemelin brought in slowly to replace Spacek. I do not think there is a race between Yemelin and Diaz and would not be suprised a bit to see these two on the team come the end of the year.

It's a very soft lineup, I'm not a fan but I'm saying to be fair, Tampa is very much a skill team that isn't very gritty themselves.

I agree with that. A great game for someone like Gionta. It will be fun!
