Malone was frustrated all game, so you knew something like that was going to happen.

Good news is that Campoli doesn't seem severly injured after the hit. He wasn't unconscious immediately after the hit and got up relatively quickly. Hopefully tehre's no concussion, he's been playing quite well and really solidified the defense.

Feel much better going into the season opener after that game. Hope Campoli is alright.

Malone was looking to hurt someone for half the game. And he did. That's allowed in the NHL, and it's murder on soft little skill teams like the Habs. The headshot, however, isn't allowed. Sore loser syndrome is a well known truism of hockey, it's why the no starting fights in the last five minutes rule was introduced. I wonder if Shanny's videos will ever note the score as part of the context of a cheap hit like Malone's tonight. It was certainly key to his motivation, I thought. He had a major chip on his shoulder all night.

Wish White was there...no matter what White would have gone after Malone right after the Price crap. Thats why we need this kid. Regardless.

Very impressed with that team. Good team work. Gomez was dominant which is something they need all year long from him.

Didn't get a chance to comment on your post. I may be one of those who's not so high on Martin and wonder how far he could actually take this team. I think this may be his best team in Montreal so we'll see.

Malone does dirty **** all game, cheapshots Campoli then beats up Gorges.

Good job management. We don't need tough players.

Just back from the game (I live almost right in front of the Colisée )

Awesome game. The atmosphere in the building was electric, and everyone had a good night until Malone blew a fuse. He gave slashes behind the play and was a pain all game. I hope Shanahan wrecks him HARD. He literally lined up Campoli to take him out.

God, I LOVE Gorges.

Other than that, it was a very solid game. Boucher was visibly irritated behind the bench. At a couple of moments, I thought his eyeballs would pop out of their sockets.

1st time I saw PK play live, and man, was he worth the price of entry.

This is as reassuring as it comes, the Habs will be able to play hockey this season and not tank like the Leafs!

This team just needed some time to gel. When the Leafs' season begins, ours will begin as well. Hopefully we will win against the Leafs.

Any news of Campoli? How many stitches for Gorges? Thumbs up to him for doing what he did. Any other injuries?

Opposition messes with our players and no retaliation then headshots a guy to take him out of the game but you know, it's okay because we won on the scoreboard. We only require tremendous depth for this plan to work through the entire season.

Well there is precedent of it so minimum he should get is ten games. Shanahan should look at this, if a player is running around cheap shotting people then he escalates it too possibly causing injury then nail those dirt bags with very stiff suspensions.

Malone is a crappy player and always has been, he plays on the edge and gets on the wrong side of it often, getting beat up does nothing to him, the only way to hurt him in the wallet.

Malone's hit kinda clouded what I was trying to say:

This is a game that shows how strong our team can become.

- Solid goaltending
- Mobile defenseman with offensive flair who keep pressure at all time
- Constant pressure from all four lines, with the Bolts often out of position due to being either late for a change or overshifted.

Keep it like that, and we make #5 minimum. Add Markov, and we might win the division.

Seriously, the only GA tonight was a BEAUTY of a shot, we spent more time praising Vinny on that goal than cursing!
