Moen was slated to be ready for opening night. Eller is very unlikely. He's yet to be cleared for contact and you usually need a week or so to make sure you're ready for big hits and the rigours of a reg season game.
White's injury is the most ambiguous one of all. The guy shows up for the golf tourney and I don't know if he played or not, but ever since, they kept saying he's injured and won't even make it to Toronto...
Eller has been cleared for contact today according to rds
Last I heard, as of two days ago there was still swelling around the knee.
While this isn't terrible news, it certainly wasn't Plan A on Markov's road to recovery when they signed him. This is an unforeseen setback. Best realistic scenario: they're being ultra-careful, so that when he does return he can stick around for the long haul. I'd rather not play the "Worst realistic scenario" card right now.
there was soooo much time between campoli being in that position and Malone going in for the head and at the VERY least Malone 100% could have avoided elbow to the face. It was vicious. What a POS. Hopefully Shanny is consistent with his rulings. I haven't seen the Edler/Hall hit, but it seems some are getting off. Overall I think he's done a pretty good job so far.
The idea being if a nutcase has been headhunting all game players should be aware and stay out of his way? If so we need a nutcase or two.
I like how classy our team is, BUT...our classy team is always getting hurt by teams that have nutcases (recent nutcases that abused our Habs...Malone and Downie).
What the heck do we need?
A 4th line that looks like this?:
Carcillo - Konopka - Chris Neil
I'd love (for once) for our Habs to have a victory without getting pummeled/injured for it. Everytime (or almost) we win the other team sends a nutcase(s) to injure some of our players. Shanahan to the rescue? Or a Chris Neil type? Or we just sit here being fans and think injuries (and being injured/abused/bullied) is a part of the game, we'll survive.
