White's injury is the most ambiguous one of all. The guy shows up for the golf tourney and I don't know if he played or not, but ever since, they kept saying he's injured and won't even make it to Toronto...
Eller has been cleared for contact today according to rds

Great news. Especially considering how bad DD looked last night.

Per HockeyInsideout Campoli was on the flight with the team so looks like he didn't get a concussion, good news!

Again, fantastic news. That feed he gave Cammy on the Gomez goal last night was awesome. He's going to be a big help for us. I could even see him get some PP minutes.

Great news! I hope that Campoli-Gorges pairing sticks.

I hope that's the case but it was not confirmed by anyone, more like Boone's take on it.

Last I heard, as of two days ago there was still swelling around the knee.

While this isn't terrible news, it certainly wasn't Plan A on Markov's road to recovery when they signed him. This is an unforeseen setback. Best realistic scenario: they're being ultra-careful, so that when he does return he can stick around for the long haul. I'd rather not play the "Worst realistic scenario" card right now.

Can we have the original post update with news and returning possibilities as they become available? Would be nice to open the thread and have the details on the first post.

I don't agree about the leaning, I'm just saying that this is what circulates right now...from HF to Bobby Mac to, I'm sure, the league. Will not be surprise if he isn't suspended.

FWIW last night on HNIC, Elliotte Friedman said if he had to guess at a length for the suspension, he would say 6-8 games...

Why would Malone get suspended for that long ?

It was illegal hit and all, but Campoli put himself in that position for reaching. Maybe a game, or two.

I'd say 4-5.

Campoli did not move immediately or simultaneously to the hit, so the onus was on Malone to not hit him if he was in a vulnerable position, and even moreso on the head.

I predict 5 games.

there was soooo much time between campoli being in that position and Malone going in for the head and at the VERY least Malone 100% could have avoided elbow to the face. It was vicious. What a POS. Hopefully Shanny is consistent with his rulings. I haven't seen the Edler/Hall hit, but it seems some are getting off. Overall I think he's done a pretty good job so far.

The idea being if a nutcase has been headhunting all game players should be aware and stay out of his way? If so we need a nutcase or two.

People argued that Ben Smith put himself in a position to get hit, and look what Brendon Smith got.

Besides, like habtastic said, there was plenty Malone could have done to avoid cranking Campoli in the head. It's not like he reached forward at the very last second.

I like how classy our team is, BUT...our classy team is always getting hurt by teams that have nutcases (recent nutcases that abused our Habs...Malone and Downie).

What the heck do we need?

A 4th line that looks like this?:
Carcillo - Konopka - Chris Neil

?!?!?!

I'd love (for once) for our Habs to have a victory without getting pummeled/injured for it. Everytime (or almost) we win the other team sends a nutcase(s) to injure some of our players. Shanahan to the rescue? Or a Chris Neil type? Or we just sit here being fans and think injuries (and being injured/abused/bullied) is a part of the game, we'll survive.

that's pretty much the rationale behind previous year suspensions... try to find any possible excuse for the hit.
