I am not sure which is the bigger idiot on that last punt. Perry Riley for lighting up Austin Pettis right when he tried to catch the punt, or Pettis for once again not calling for a fair catch while in a crowd. Riley is good for a dumb *** penalty every couple games or so, but that is the 2nd time Pettis was completely lit up trying to field a punt in this game when he should of called a fair catch, so Pettis edges out Riley by a nose.
Also, the Rams WR's and TE's are horrible. Drops left and right with Sims-Walker being the worst of the bunch.
Looks like Torain just took his starting RB job back from Hightower. Great to see as a fan, but sucks for my fantasy team because I have Hightower. Well at least until Torain gets hurt again.
Yes he is, but on those 2 runs it isn't hard to see why he gets hurt as much as he does. He runs hard and seeks out contact. Thats fine in short yardage, but he needs to avoid big hits instead of seeking them out.
But he's healthy. Why the heck not use him before now?
You talk about a change of pace? Throw him in there for 10-15 carries a game.
Well he did miss the entire pre-season, and Shanahan has made it very clear players don't play until he feels they are in "game shape". That, and it was said on the Skins pre-game radio show that Shanahan called out Hightower last week during the monday night game. Apparently he told Hightower to cut out the slipping and tippy toeing or Torain will be put in. So Hightower was put on a short leash starting last week. And Hightower wasn't very productive to start this game, and Torain might have taken Hightowers spot.
What the **** is going on? 2 minutes left, 3 time outs, and the Rams have shown no life on offense. Why not run the 2 minute offense for no other reason than to practice it?
And right when I get ready to finish typing the above message, Bad Rex almost throws a pick.
Holy CRAP! What is the deal with this Pettis guy? Thats the 3rd time he should of called a fair catch and got crushed. Sure Paul went high on him, but the guy is the punt returner for a reason. He needs to know when to make a fair catch for his own personal well being at least. Geez
...Until Torrain struggles and and hightower breaks a big run...
Well I would think both Torain and Hightower will share carries moving forward, but Torain is built for the stretch run play. He makes up his mind and he's gone one way or the other. He already has 2 running plays longer than anything Hightower has done to this point. Torain is more explosive both running and with his injuries unfortunately.
