Andrew MacDonald VS Travis Harmonic

I have a draft today for a salary cap keeper league and I need a d-man with a salary under a million.

I have lowered it down to Andrew MacDonald or Travis Hamonic...Can you Islander fans give me a little guidance on who you think will get more points this year? This pool is strictly points.

They had basically the same pts in the same games last year...I am more familiar with Hamonic's pedigree, but Andrew MacDonald a lower contract (with an extra year on it). I need your help!

Well, with Harmonic, your defense will never be out of tune

Thankfully this is not a spelling pool, or I would be in some trouble

I always thought Hamonic was more of a gritty defensive dman.

Has his since shed that label and added a strong offensive part to his game?

I think A-Mac has the edge offensively, but it's REALLY tough to say.

These guys are going to be a pair to be reckoned with for years to come though, I love em'

Haha you guys are making good arguments for both.

I see they are playing Hamonic on the #1 PP with Streit. Do you think that is going to stick? If so, I think that gives him the edge

i think macdonald - hamonic are gonna be on the 2nd pp unit, first will probably be rolston-streit

I'd go with Hamonic. Both will get roughly equal powerplay time I think, but there's a good chance that Hamonic ends up on Streit's pairing at even strength which will inflate his points a bit.

For fantasy it is Hamonic, they will probably put up semi similar points but Hamonic will put up an extra 50-100 pims
