Happy Birthday, LS!

May the Sharks win the Cup this year in your honor... and mine... and everyone on this board ... well, pretty much every Sharks fan.

Jelly Baby, anyone?

You mentioned it once or twice and I'm mildly obsessed with the show myself. I've got a TARDIS cookie jar and a sonic screwdriver (11th) pen. I caught on with the '05 revamp and I'm slowly but surely catching up on the classic series.

Classic: perhaps the best story arch (before this current iteration) might be the "Key of Time" (Doctor: Tom Baker).

Although there were some very classic moments. (Davros and the Daleks. Cybermen intro. Not to mention Galifrey visits and the Doctor's reluctance to take his elected position. And the ORIGINAL Matrix.)

I agree with the Genesis of the Daleks and the key of time arch. I'll add some favorites, The Brain of Morbius, The Deadly Assassin, The Face of Evil, The Talons of Weng-Chiang, and The Pirate Planet. I think Tom Baker's run was definitely the most iconic, I love the way he goes from being flippant to somber and contemplative at the drop of a hat. As for the new stuff,I like what Matt Smith has been doing with the character so far but not a huge fan of the David Tennant run.

(Sorry double post)

Yeah, I agree. I loved Nine and I love Eleven, but I don't get everyone's obsession with Ten. He's really meh to me.

Nine always seems a bit too synthetically goofy too me like Eccleston was never comfortable with the role.

Tennant I thought was brilliant but poorly written (Glowing Jesus Hover Doctor? Really?)

Smith is just knocking it out of the park. Moffett's seasons have made it almost impossible for me to watch any of RTD's.

For the classic series, so far I've only seen Unearthly Child and whichever one had Four and Sarah Jane in space with a bunch of bugs. One seems kinda like a jerk and Four seems like Nine's inspiration. People who are familiar with the classic series might find it amusing that I had no idea who Sarah Jane was when Ten ran into her in the school episode.

I became a fan of Dr. Who when I started dating Mr. Ski way back in the day. The highlight was seeing Tom Baker at a Dr. Who convention.
