That's odd, I thought the Flames don't give rookies a chance to play. Tim "AHL" Erixon once told me that.

I am loving that hashtag #timerixonwho? Sums it all up right there. Horak also makes the big club, Erixon gets assigned to the "Bus travelling" AHL squad. LOL sorry timmy maybe daddy will get you on the team next year. Also congrats Horak, lets see some highlight reel hands all season!

Great news, congrats to Horak.

He certainly did not look out of place in pre-season.

#timerixonwho? is right.

This sums up my thoughts exactly. Horak certainly showed that he belonged up in the NHL.

So it will be Backlund, Jokinen, Horak, and Stajan until Bmo gets back, not too shabby, could someone get our average age numbers from last year and compare them to this year? Would be much appreciated

If I did the math right...
Start of 2010-2011 Season: 28.7 Years Old
Start of 2011-2012 Season: 28.5 Years Old

Are you sure about last years age? I was sure I read it was closer to 30. Something like 29.5. Did you take Langkow into account?

Langkow didn't play last year, he's doing starting lineups.

And those numbers make sense. It's mostly the same team, and everyone on the team is a year older.

Correct. Langkow wasn't on the roster page I looked at for 2010-2011 because of his injury so I didn't have him on there. Even so, he only played several games at the end of the season last season.

Congrats to Horak, it is well deserved. It is also looking like I guessed the line combo's correct in the other thread. #Itoldyousolol

I can see him hitting a decent number of points playing with Stempniak and Bork. I'd guess around 25-30.

I don't think Horak is up to the challenge of making Borque better. He was really lost without Langkow, and I don't see him playing any better than last year if Horak is his pivot. Borque is an important weapon for the Flames and he needs to be way better than he was last year.

I'm not so sure I agree with this. I agree with the part about Langkow, but Bourque had Jokinen and Stajan as his centre last year, neither of whom are known for their playmaking abilities. Horak actually has quite good vision and skill, he was a large reason for Howse having such a good year last season. He is good at FO's which will help the puck possesion on that line, and he has the speed to create space for Bourque and Stemps and also the ability to find them. I think Bourque's numbers will actually go up playing with him. I think there will be some growing pains, but if Horak sticks with the club, he strikes me as the player who adapts quickly and I think he will get better as the season wears on.

Stajan's playmaking abilities are above average, Its is his biggest strength as a player.

Brodie was a -3 through his first 3 games, his defence partner however (white) was certainly not helping his case as he was -7 through his first 10 games.

Well, now what happens if Horak outplays Stajan obscenely by the time B-mo gets back? Do we bury Stajan in the minors?
