2011/12 Goal Horn

What are we using? Anybody who has been to a preseason game, what have they used? The broadcasts have kept the background noise turned down so I haven't heard the horn yet.

Since not just anybody can go on Youtube, create a video and label it "official".

If your not an idiot, your likely gullible.

You further exemplify how naive you are by not understanding my post. Thanks for the example.

Yes, it's DOOP which I like. Bro Hymn was already taken by another NHL team, it's time to get something different.

It's different than the playoff "DOOP", it's louder and there's a beat throughout, it's a little better now than it was in the playoffs. I still don't like it, but I suppose it will grow on me. Bro Hymn was better but I understand wanting to move away from the Ducks' horn.

That's what I thought. I was trying to listen and it didn't sound like the playoff DOOP from last year.

So your saying they "remixed" it?

Sounds like it, or maybe just start it later in the song. Either way. Also it sounds louder but that might just be the rest of the building being quieter for a preseason game vs. a playoff game.

I'm sure this has already been posted elsewhere, but the DOOP we play is an excerpt from a song called "Maria" by the (horrible) German techno group Scooter.

It was really popular when I lived in Germany back in 2004-ish. I thought I escaped it...sigh.

But it actually is a perfect goal tune. Catchy and annoying to opposition.

Agree with all of this. It is catchy and if the crowd joins in on the chant after the goals, it should drive the opponent mad, like Chicago's did in 2010.

You mean goal song, not horn. The horn will be the same, the song will be Doop.

I dislike the use of DOOP for a goal song. Yes, they may have made it louder, but it's not loud enough. I feel goal songs should be loud and overwhelming. Bro Hymn did that. So did the Joan Jett song for that matter.

At first I hated the idea of using Doop. Mostly because I heard it down at a Union game and that entire night was a waste and made me hate the idea of it.

But, I heard it down at the center during a pre-season game and its really not that bad. Good background to it, and I think it could grow on me.

LOL. Actually, I'm pretty sure they're boat horns. Specifically the Kahlenberg S-203C.

Sound familiar?
