jeebus Avery on waivers after the game or what? Unless he is hurt

I would rest WW and Sauer too. Ready for opener

If Avery doesn't make this team, all it shows is that Tortorella never wanted him to.

So does any one know if this one will be on center ice or televised on the NHL network so I can record it and watch it when I get home?

NYR lines per roster sheet: Feds-Richards-Gaborik, Dubi-Anisimov-Callahan, Rupp-Stepan-Zuccarello, Boyle-Christensen-Prust.

And if it does, all it shows is that he was a step ahead of Christensen the whole time and Torts was giving EC his final shots to try to catch up.

NYR D pairs are same as last night: McDonagh-Girardi, Del Zotto-Eminger, Bell-Bickel. Biron is starting and Stajcer is the backup.

Swiss stream: http://atdhenet.tv/39872/watch-ny-rangers-vs-zug

Pre-game show underway.

I'm pretty steady in German, but Swiss-German is kinda messing with my head.

That's what I'm assuming this is, a last hurrah for EC to show something. I think Avery has the inside track.

If Avery didn't make the team now after being scratched 2 games in a row, Torts would be blasted for not giving Avery a legitimate chance in the last few games before the final cut.

I can't believe all of you traveling down the Avery Sympathy Road. If it wasn't for the NYR, the guys NHL career would've been over years ago. If anything, we're the only organization to give the guy a fair chance.

That being said, **** Erik Christensen. I'd rather have Sean on this team any day of the week over Mr. Softie.

If Avery isn't hurt this is a joke. How many times does Torts have to watch Christensen be invisible before cutting him? Seriously does he have pictures or something.

How can Torts justify cutting Avery by not even seeing him play the past two games?

EC has to be the one getting the boot...right?

If this was a true battle he'd have both in the lineup so he could monitor them, but EC is getting all the shots.

The problem with Avery is his bad attitude, it's amazing that some of you guys dont understand that. And if its true that he picked on Simmonds because of the color of his skin, then hes done.

Not sure there's much value for a guy like EC around the league. Not consistent enough to be a top 6 player, useless in the bottom 6.

That may be true, but it isn't because of his production or lack thereof on the ice. That all has to do with his personality and the problems he's had with more conservative thinking players. On the ice, he's a pretty good player as evidenced by this preseason and he fits well into our system. I'm not so sure we're going to get much out of either Wolski or Fedetenko this year so Avery may be a very important part of this team if he makes it. I think Hagelin will be up before long as well.

Did anyone other than the posters on HF suggest this happened?

What? You realize Avery is an agitator and tries to get under the skin of at least one player per team.

I'm pretty sure Simmonds would've said something to get some of the backlash of him for the incident.

So W2 have played what, 2 games? And still he's put on the 1st line with Gaby and Brad? I don't feel like he have done great this camp and he's been non descript in the games and yet he's given top spot. Am I the only one who's worried, and how is this even fair to the kids who have played their ***** off to make the team?

Torts ain't giving him anything. He might start on the first line, because he's seen as the best option there, but if it doesn't work out, he'll be playing six minutes a game or eating nachos.

We have loads of options on the top line LW. No reason to worry.

It's amazing that people still spout "bad attitude" generalities. Bad attitude about what? About being nice to the opponent? Good - that's his job. He doesn't have a bad attitude about being a Ranger and thats all that counts.

No, people just thought "oh it's Avery" and "oh Simmonds would never call someone such a name if Avery hadn't said something bad" while at the same time scoffing at the whole thing because calling someone that name is so common in the NHL that "it isn't a big deal"
