Conner has become a good 4th line player and has a good chance of making a very good Red Wings team. Guy was five foot nothing but he did better in the corners than a guy twice his size.

Bourque will never be a fringe player or 4th line player. Washington loves to stack their Bears because they have such a big fan base in Hershey so he should stay there. Most of their players have been there for year and will never make a dent in the pro's.

The only reason this kid has even been able to maintain SOME interest from NHL clubs over the last few years is because of his connections (thanks dad!). He's terribly undersized, and he just doesn't have the skillset to really compensate for it either. He isn't big, strong, or gritty enough to play a grinder role, isn't sound enough defensively to be a defensive specialist or penalty killer, and he doesn't have enough natural talent to even remotely pass himself off as a scorer.

Sorry to say it, but I don't see this guy being anything more than a very good career AHLer (John Slaney 2.0).

Seems he's most comfy being a big fish in a small pond.

Ya, with those Penguin pants and many story of watching the Stanley Cup Banner (he had no hands in bringing it to Pittsburgh) going up.

Being able to claim players off waivers to assign them in the minors sure wouldn't make a lot of sense.

Really. Im sure the main point of waivers is to give players once they reach a certain age the best chance to make it as a Pro.

People need to stop and think about it. If you could claim a guy and stick him in the minors what would stop teams from claiming any promising prospect they see?
Then theyd lose any promising player they have, where would it end?

I cant believe someone advocated getting Borque back.

And I agree that Id much rather have Chris Conner back than have Chris Borque.

No thanks to Bourque. I don't see this guy accomplishing anything at the NHL level.

No. He embarrassed himself during his first stint here. No need to see that, again.

Chris Bourque is one of those guys I hope to never see on the Pens again in life. You never know though. Kris Beech wound up back here for another cup of coffee a few years back. Never thought that would happen either

The Penguins are certainly not going to give Chris Bourque more NHL icetime if they'd have to claim him off waivers right now to do so. They already have so many guys who can play in the NHL that they can't fit them all on the roster.

Maybe we can lure Pesonen back to North America while we are considering Chris Bourque.

I hope the OP was joking at the suggestion of signing Bourque. He wouldnt even be in the NHL if his dad was not one of the best players of all time.
The Jets had Pesonen in North America but released him yesterday.

P.S. Cue the video

So what exactly does a guy have to do to for everyone to collectively NOT want him back? Bash Crosby over the head with a stick and butt **** Malkin's parents?

Even Talbot and Colby could get away with those things.

Awww. I feel bad for the dude, but I totally thought of that song when I saw him playing for Winnipeg. He's a good player in Europe...unfortunately, just not here. Like, at all.
