New Thomas mask for 2011-2012 season

"Boston Bruins
@NHLBruins Boston Bruins
"@eyecandyair: Thomas #Bruins 11/12 season goalie mask airbrushed by #EYECANDYAIR http://www.eyecandyair.com/goaliemas...thomasmask.htm #bewareofbear"

Didn't see a thread about this, but the Bruins just tweeted this site which has pics of Thomas' new mask and a video about it.

Looks pretty much the same to me, but the details are brought out a bit which is definitely a nice change to the design from last year.

Not sure when it happened or how much of an effect it causes but- seems like Thomas moved from being a very good to a great goal tender over the last 3-4 years. He also changed his pads and his mask from being gold to white with light black graphics. How much of an impact do you think there is to having his pads and helmet blend in with the net behind him? It looks almost like camoflague. I remember some tender in the minors painted a net on his white pads a while back.

Saw it earlier. He's been wearing it in preseason. Attention to detail

I always thought he did that so if he got traded, he did not have to break in new gear. Hence why the Bruins logo is not on the front of the mask.

Yeah, it is definitely more of a Tim Thomas mask than a Bruins mask... but at the same time I don't think another team would appreciate him wearing a mask with a bunch of bears on it, lol. B's logo or not, it still has some pretty specific emblems on it.

This reminds me of the Mark Twain quote.
Quote:
“When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished by how much he'd learned in seven years.”

Dont hate, but I find the white masks that he has had kinda boring. But whatever works for him is good for me. I can take another year of the same

Homer comment, but Thomas' new mask is the best goalie mask in the NHL

I don't care for last year/this year's mask as much as some of Timmy's earlier masks, but why mess with what works?

Looks sweet! I love how subtle the bear is, but then you realize it takes up the entire background of the mask.

Jason Labarbara's got a tribute to Pat Tillman on his so I'd vote for his as the best...might as well vote him best at something.

I wonder why he would change the spacing of the bars at the front. I seem to remember him saying in interviews that the square-shaped pattern of the front bars on the cage he used last year gave him a much better view of the puck. This year's looks more conventional with the rounded bars. Stick with what worked last year Timmy!!

He should paint it light green, as in the color of US currency.

Because the guy is money.

In God we trust? On a goalie mask in Boston? The ACLU must be busy these days.

I still think he did the white mask thing expecting Chia to find a deal at some point last year. Thank God that never happened. Still I hope he has last years mask as a back up.

The white has to do with making him look bigger in the human eye and thus leaving shooters less options to shoot at in the split second they generally have
