This would have been one to watch, had we not signed Belanger, but I think Belanger is way better. Also would rather see what we have with Petrell, Lander, etc rather than claim him, but I wouldnt be surprised to see someone else claim him.

I agree. Unless someone gets hurt riding their bike from their hotel to the arena in Jasper today.

Yeah, Betts would've been a great pickup had we not had Belanger or if Lander didn't have such a good camp. He would've been a terrific pickup last year. Heck, he'd still be a decent aquisition this year too. He'd be a much better 13th forward than some other players who'd probably be better off getting icetime in OKC over sitting in the Oilers' pressbox. And you know he can help you if there's an injury.

I'd pick him up just for how it would tick off the flames.

We already have Eager and Hordichuck to aggitate.

We dont need the least respected NHL player in the league on our team.

Matt Walker has a bit of game, I think, depending on how he's recovering from his injury.

So seeing some of these waived players, how do you guys think Brule stacks up with regards to being picked up now. I see a number of players that would probably be signed before Brule. Or has Brule already cleared....I haven't heard anything.

All the players the Oilers waived yesterday cleared, so no one took a chance.

This better not happen. The only player I never want to see in Oiler colours more than Avery is Cooke.

But it's Spector, so he's likely just full of it and trying to draw some attention to his show.

i don't want him either, but he can play, in theory, and is that agitator this team hasn't had for a LONG time.

We signed Ben Eager, picking Avery up with our contract situation the way it is would be asinine.

With Avery in an Oiler jersey creating disturbances, it would sure help distract us all from the coming next 2 difficult seasons.
