So then who is the 7th Dman? There has to be a trade coming. Otherwise Schenn will be in AHL the entire season and I have no idea who the 7th Dman is. Unless I'm missing something, Bartulis and Gus are both out, right? So its Pronger, Mez, Timonen, Coburn, Carle, Lilja, and who else???
Doesn't mean it's a deal coming necessarily, Gustafsson can be recalled withouth going through waivers, so it's not that big of a deal. Still, I'd have hoped to see someone other than Lilja as our 6th d.
Seems like they are doing the Zherdev thing. Waive them but doesnt mean they are going to get sent down. I think in Walker/Bartulis's case, its to see if they get to go to another team and play more minutes. If not I can see one of them being the 7th to Lilja.
All these dudes getting waived and yet Shelley survives. Ugh.
I believe it's better to let him sit his suspension before he gets waived, otherwise he'd need to serve it if he has to be called back up later...I think.
Even still, I wouldn't be shocked in the least if Shelley remains on the team either way.

So would I, I'd much rather have kept Walker up as our 6th dman than have Lilja there.

#NHL #Flyers Brayden Schenn is only eligible for $1.405m in B bonuses if he spends every day on the Flyers' roster and appears in 82 games.

That means Brayden Schenn's cap hit should drop from $3.11m to $1.705m after just one day in the minors. #NHL #Flyers
looks like theyre giving anyone who isnt going to see regular minutes a shot to play. walker may be the one guy i miss i liked how he performed this preseason while betts was the best player hes in a positon where we have organizatinal depth with kalinski and holmstrom coming up. bart was about as stuck as you can be and im glad hell get a chance to see some minutes and further his development.
nothing to see really on the guys who were waiver exempt. though if schenns roster bonus is really what bumped his hit up so much there was no way he was making this team to begin with. at 1.7 he stand s a better chance of getting a look
Sad to see Betts go as I like him and I think he's good value at his cost and for his PK ability. At the same time, I like the options we have on the 4th line.
Could it have been Homer had this Schenn trick up his sleeve the entire time! Kudos! (That's right all you kool-aid drinkers. I, a "Homer hater", just gave him kudos.)
