Is this the appropriate place to state that I hate the Laffs and that they suck?

They'll be lucky to get 50 games out of him. They are probably hoping to get 80 out of him and Lombardi combined.

Ron Wilson is doubtful for Thursday? Not a big surprise, I thought he was doubtful for the whole last season, but he's still there somehow... Surprised that he was told by Connolly though.

Thanks

A: if you listen to Plekamaniac, they are just a bunch of loser gutless midget panties

Personally, I am pretty happy about them. A very defensively effective 1st line that still packs punch, and a very deep 3rd line. If Gomez keeps up his Heroic Comeback, he could also be one of our dominant player, as silly as it may sounds.

So 3 effective top lines, and very competent PMD who can do good first passes to catch the opponent on transition play and step in to support the forwards with opportune net-rushing

Thanks Gabe 84

PricePKMatch: I think the PMD should consentrate on net-presence and leave the PM to others (when I think about it, thats how we look like at times)

interesting...

@MAGodin
Marc Antoine Godin Plekanec à la pointe, pas de Cole ni de Weber sur les 2 vagues d'avantage. Le Canadien fait des choix peu orthodoxes!

WTF Martin, are you kidding me!?

You get Cole for 4 years this summer at 4.5 per, but you make him play on the 3rd line with nobody's and not even on the PP? Sigh

The PM?

The strength of our team is a quick transition game that catch the other team flat-footed. If a defenseman happens to be in a position to help a transition rush, he should do so.

Otherwise, he should try those killer passes that allow quick transition. The whole point is to capitalise on not allowing time to the opponent to organize a defense.

When we installed ourselves in the o-zone, its also their job to be proactive to prevent puck exit of the job, and also prevent a transition against us..

Has it occurred to anyone that maybe JM is just experimenting and seeing how people play together versus waiting until an actual game to do so?

It's amusing how many people are getting their panties in a bunch over Cole being tried on the 3rd line etc.

If we come out strong in the first, with the players they are missing, we should be able to bury them.

I'm fine with anything in practice and pre-season, but if Cole really doesn't get any PP time on Thursday I'll be as confused as everyone else. If he gets PP #1 time and plays with Darche/Desharnais 5 on 5, he'll still end up with 16-20 minutes, which is fine.

If Cole starts the year on the 3rd line you can count on us rolling all 3 lines evenly during 5 on 5 scenarios. At least one would expect such...

Cole I can see not always being on the PP. Weber if he is dressed should be a regular part of one of the PP units.

I imagine that Cole is being put on the 3rd line to help protect Desharnais. We saw him struggle in the last two pre-season games. The Desharnais line was struggling with Tampa's 3rd-line they were matched against getting torched by Tampa's 1st line in about 3 minutes of head-to-head ice-time in the first game. Kostitsyn's a pretty good two-way player but Cole is a step above Kostitsyn and Cole ll really help Desharnais defensively.

When Eller is back and bumps Desharnais to the wing or the 4th line I bet we'll see Kostitsyn and Cole switched. Until then giving Desharnais some defensive support is a good idea.

I second that! If we see Cole start on the 3rd line, I doubt it's because of a lack of effort or defensive awareness during pre-season games. JM wants to help out Desharnais and have an equilibrium in his lines. Haven't seen anything wrong with Cole during pre-season.
