Not a huge loss for the Rangers considering their wealth of potential bottom-6 forwards.

However, Nucks fans will like this guy. Lot of heart, energy. Not the greatest skater, but is a tenacious and smart forechecker. Not a fighter, but willing to drop em.

Has an ok shot and ok offensive sense. Potentially a 10-10-20 guy at the NHL level.

I'd rather have Oreskovich

Hell, I'd rather have Duco.

Any particular reason? Both of those guys are considerably worse hockey players than Weise.

Weise may be the better hockey player, but his game really won't translate into the NHL. I think he has untapped potential and could be somewhat like a Chris Higgins with less offense if all goes well for him.

What else could you want from a bottom six waiver claim?

Not a bad thing, but that's probably his upside. I doubt he reaches that level. Hopefully he does.

They didn't; they had last priority.

Oreskovich is 25 years old and has 10 goals in 70 career AHL games.

Dale Weise just turned 23 and scored 28 goals as a 21 year old in the AHL.

Neither guy can fight, both can hit and one of them has shown an ounce of ability with the puck as a pro. Here's a hint - it's not Oreskovich.

Not surprised in the least the Canucks would waive Oreskovich for this guy. He's simply done more...

They better hope they didn't get him to fight. He just got dusted last week.

Sounds like you're describing Voros instead of Weise, but nobody skates worse than Voros.
