crosby breathes relief. steckel traded out of the division.
reason for being moved? lou thought the reason he was slow was poor conditioning. now he realizes its just steckel

Those were just rumors. I have an inside source that tells me Steckle was running down a hall at the Devils facility, where he didn't see Lou, and ended up giving him a concussion.
he's an elite faceoff taker. sometimes he has a good stick and good positioning on the PK. sometimes he's just slow and out of position.
dirty dave has never struck me as the sharpest crayon in the box, so maybe he'll take well to wilson's more structured style of coaching. best of luck this year.
Faceoffs are his only NHL skill. He can't clear the puck on the PK and his lack of speed really hurts his ability to adjust his position. Good wingspan though.
Scouting Report Assets
Has a very imposing frame. Is versatile enough to play both center and wing. Excels in the face-off dot, can kill penalties and score in the clutch. Flaws
Mainly because of a lack of skating speed and coordination, he doesn't score a lot at the highest level. Also doesn't use his big body effectively enough. Career Potential Defensive forward with good face-off skills.
Since I would never have seen that otherwise, I appreciate your sharing; ouch.
Not surprised the Devils wanted to move Steckel; surprised Burke traded a pick for Steckel with Betts on waivers unless deal was pretty much complete before that news broke.

what he isnt is a NHL player.....the faceoff stat is flawed, but that aside....if he wins the draw there is still a big problem.....he is on the ice....you never want him taking a big draw in the offensive zone, and id rather take my chances on a decent faceoff guy who can play a little bit
Leaf fan here, how was Steckel in Washington? Is he good in pk? Thanks, just want to know.
Damn good player. Mercilessly crapped on like every other player to have left Washington recently but he showed everyone what he could do in the playoffs against the Rangers and Penguins as a 3rd line centaur.
Consider your faceoff and PK issues a thing of the past.
