Hmm. Betts gets put on Waivers and then Steckle gets moved. I wouldn't be surprised to see NJ as the team that ends up with Betts.

Moen is ten times better than Blunden.

It will be curious to see where Betts ends up.

except...you forget that Lappy never wanted anything to do with the fourth line.

He bought his own ticket out of town. Get over it.

Is there a way to find out which teams put in claims on players?

7 pages? Only in Montreal.

I doubt anyone even knew who Blunden was before we got him. Who cares?

Most hab fans didn't, but that's how it goes around here.

It's also talk of others who are on waivers and who to get. So, it's not just about Blunden.

Anybody but Engqvist, including other teams trash for the 4th line center spot?

Gotta love the hate he's getting, I mean there's no way a 23 year-old hockey player can improve playing NHL games and being in the locker room with the vets we have, right?

Until he costs us some points I'm not going to get too riled up about management and the coaching staff trying to groom their own 4th line center.

Dump him for a late round draft pick or a fringe NHL'r and watch him blossom somewhere else, would love to read this place after that.

IMO Engqvist would improve more playing 17 minutes per game in the NHL, than being a PK specialist in the NHL. He hasn't shown enough to earn a regular shift in the big leagues yet. Hopefully he will one day, for the Habs, but so far it hasn't happened.

Regarding "other teams trash" - waiver claims often become useful players. Begin and Bouillon in Montreal. Grabner last year. Bryzgalov.

It depends how banged up he is. If his shoulder is a serious issue nobody takesa chance.

How long can we wait before sending Blunden down after he clears waivers? I wouldn't mind keeping him up for a few weeks and then sending him down when White and company return. We should waive Budaj and sign Pascal Leclaire. Can't be any worse than Boodaj.

I'm sure they signed Budaj to a 2 year deal just to cut him in favor of Leclaire after a bad PRE season game.

It was multiple bad pre-season games. He's a terrible goalie, Toskala-esque.

Yeeeaaa... They were pre-season games. What about waiting and watching him play in the regular season? Huh? Because he's better than Auld, and there's no doubt in my mind about that.

A month, I believe. Then he has to clear waivers again (if he hasn't been sent down...if he has been sent down within that month then he has to clear re-entry waivers as soon as you call him back up, provided he's eligible for re-entry).

So was Price last year...in hindsight we should have traded him right?

I have to assume Blunden cleared, since we didn't hear about anyone picking him up.
