Line combos for the 2011/2012 season

T-24 hours!!!

Montreal against Toronto and Montreal just picked up Blair Betts, Moen is skating, Eller is back practicing and Markov is NOT ready.

So...

To start the season, I would like to see:

Cammalleri - Plekanec - Cole
Pacioretty - Gomez - Gionta
Kostitsyn - Desharnais - Weber
Darche - Betts - Moen

Gill - Subban
Campoli - Gorges
Spacek - Diaz

Price
Budaj

I would run

Cammalleri - Plekanec - Kostitsyn
Pacioretty - Gomez - Gionta
Darche - Desharnais - Cole
Moen - Betts - Weber

Gill - Subban
Campoli - Gorges
Spacek - Yemelin

Price
Budaj

In Eller's absence the third line needs a stronger player than Kostitsyn so Cole goes down (pretty minimal change). I somewhat like Yemelin more than Diaz but respect diagreement there.

Full lineup I'd use

Cammalleri - Plekanec - Cole (hardest minutes line)
Pacioretty - Gomez - Gionta (mid-level competion, high offensive zone usage)
Kostitsyn - Eller - Desharnais (soft minute destroyers)
Moen - Betts - White (mid-level competion used heavily in defensive zone)
Darche/Weber

Gill - Subban
Markov - Gorges
Spacek/Yemelin - Yemelin/Diaz/Weber

Price
Budaj

PK units

Betts -Moen
Plekanec - Cole
Gomez-Gionta

Gill-Gorges
Markov/Spacek - Subban

PP

Pacioretty/Kostitsyn - Plekanec - Cammaleri
Markov - Subban

Kostitsyn/Pacioretty - Gomez/Desharnais - Gionta
Spacek - Yemelin/Diaz/Weber

I'd like to see Cole play on the second line with Gomez and move Gionta to the first line. I know Cole Cammy and Pleks have had come chemistry the games they've played together but I'd like to see Gomez have someone that can keep him motivated and I think Cole is a good guy for that.

I'd try:

Cammy-Plek-AK
Cole-Gomer-Gio
MaxPac-DD-Darche
Moen-Betts-Weber

Cammy-Plek-Ak
Gio-Gomez-Pacs
Cole-DD-Darche
Moen-Betts-Weber

Cole take the place of Pacs or AK if they don't play well

Where does Weber go once Eller and White return?

Healthy lineup:

Cammalleri-Plekanec-Cole
Pacioretty-Gomez-Gionta
Desharnais-Eller-Kostitsyn
Moen-Betts-White
Darche

Markov-Spacek
Gill-Subban
Campoli-Gorges
Yemelin/Diaz

Assuming Yemelin doesn't grab the bull by the horns i have a hard time putting together our top 6. Spacek seems like the only other vet that can play the right side, but he's awful when he's over there. If Yemelin can show progress then he should be a natural to play on Markov's right side.

I think he gets traded (assuming our D is healthy).

I can't believe people still want AK in our top-6. Its been 3 years already that we have been waiting and waiting for him to explode and there is nothing there. Get over him! Cole is the guy, thats why we got him, he will be top-6 and not AK.

3rd line of Eller, Ak, and Desharnais/Moen will be solid once Eller comes back. But AK is no longer top-6 option, especially to start the season. Maybe once it starts and if we are not performing, then yea ok. But to start with him in top 6 and Cole or Patches in bottom 6 -----> You crazyyy!

Moen-Betts-White. name that (potential) 4line

So basically I believe this will be our 4th line. Give them a nick name.

My suggestion is the Beamer line

BMW first letters of their names. Anyway feel free flame away and add your suggestions?

Big White Males. tbh.

However, that could be both racist and wrong.

So I've run out of ideas.

Is there a point in picking out lines? Martin's gonna change them up every single period for the whole year anyway
