Reinprecht on re-entry waivers

I read that Jochen has taken a slight setback in his concussion recovery - I know we have Adam to fill that spot, but would Steve Reinprecht be someone Buffalo might have a look at? I am probably concerned over nothing, but could Hecht's concussion be similar to Crosby's & keep him out long term?

He is 35 & would cost just over $1M on re-entry, and he is only a couple years removed form a 40+ pt. season with a pretty bad Coyotes squad. Could still bring some offense, definately some PK ability & vet presence similar to what Neids brought last year. If nothing else he could be a vet replacement for Kotalik in Rochester.

Thoughts??

He would have to clear waivers again to be sent down to Rochester would he not?

As a bottom six answer I wouldn't mind him, if and only if Hecht is out for a month plus. It also depends on what role Adam is going to play with this team when the puck drops for real. Do they keep him with Vanek/Pominville and use Roy elsewhere or do they bump him down to a different line?

I'm not sure we really need him.

Until Hecht is declared out for the season (and I don't think we're yet approaching that point), we don't have cap space for these players. They're not going to screw up their cap situation for Steve Reinprecht.

We don't really need him. Adam looks like he's sticking for now, and we have a full roster without any call-ups. Sure, veteran center depth is nice, but I've never been much of a Reinprecht fan -- never really lived up to the potential I thought he had when he first came up with the Kings.

I have wanted Steve Reinprecht in the past but not anymore. As others have said in this thread, we dont have the room or the cap space right now and it seems like this is the roster we are going with. Also, we passed on Blair Betts and he is/was a much better option.

This is a great chance for Luke to prove he belongs in Buffalo all season, let him play.

No. He's done - he was cut by the last year's Panthers. Adam has earned his spot and he'll only lose it if outplayed by someone in Rochester (unlikely).
