I wonder if Couturier will take the number 9... A good number for a possible star player.

I think Voracek gets 65 points this year - 25 goals/40 assists. As for the most disappointing player, I think that's going to be Hartnell this year. It won't surprise me at all if he gets bumped from the second line and moves to the right wing on the third line and Wayne Simmonds moves up to the left wing on the second line.

Bank it.
Nodl has never been #9

Hmmm, I thought he was... If I'm wrong I apologize and please ignore my prediction.

EDIT: Nodl had 14 & 15... No excuse other than a brain fart... It was a fun prediction while it lasted. haha

The Flyers already seem like they are going with these combinations to start the season.

Simmonds will start on the second line and Hartnell will start on the third line.

Really hartnell? I was banking on him to have a solid year, I honestly think he will benefit in the dressing room with richie and carter gone.

I think Hartnell was a benefactor of Carter and Richards in the lineup (Hartnell had his best year statistically with Carter as his center). Now that Carter is gone and Simmonds can pretty much do what Hartnell does minus the stupid, I think Hartnell becomes the odd man out.

I just never count this guy out, he always seems to play his best when it really matters, I expect him to put up another 25 goal type season

Hartnell hasn't been playing with Carter. Hartnell has been playing with Briere.

For as dumb as Hartnell can be on the ice, he must have some smarts because it looks like he can gel with almost anyone out there. He had his best season with Carter and Lupul, was integral on the Brière-Leino line and has also done well when he was put on Richards line (anyone remember when we had a line of Hartnell-Richards-Downie for a while back in 08?).

If he can keep his head cool, having him out there with our rookies might be a better idea than having Simmonds on that line.

Hartnell is one of the best complimentary players in the entire league.

his salary is becoming much more bearable, and actually compared to some other players who play the same type of game in similar roles he is probably one of the best.

Way to ruin my purchase Voracek. I should email someone from the flyers and demand they fix my jersey lol.

+1 on this. #9 just seems to fit better for a player with the potential of Couturier . (Hopefully he lives up to it). And if so I can't see him spending his career as #14, so I too am wondering if he'll change his number to 9 or something. Making me hold off on purchasing his jersey so hopefully they decide soon.

Couturier's line didn't make two NHL.com preseason box scores. My guess is that there was a system conflict with Laperriere in that both have #14.

After Ron Sutter was traded, the #14 became something of a snakebitten number because it was passed around to various players Dave Snuggerud, Mark Pederson, Dan Quinn, Kimbi Daniels and another player (I forget now) -- six guys traded, released, demoted, or even switched numbers in little more than a year.

What the? That must be a first, right? Is it Chris Jensen? I cheated and searched flyershistory and he seems to fit.

Chris Jensen. That was it. The only thing I remember about him was that the preseason game in which the Flyers didn't bring (rookie) Eric Lindros to Quebec, Jensen scored twice and had a good shot for a hatty but missed it. It was an ugly loss, too.

Well, just going by his numbers he doesn't stand out as someone one should remember twenty years later.

I noticed he was acquired in a trade with the Rangers though. That stands out a little, I assume. I don't know how it was back in the days, but I can't recall any trades with them other than the Lindros trade.

The two that are probably the most significant: Kjell Samuelsson-Bob Froese and the "deal" that involved compensation when Fred Shero, under contract to the Flyers, became the Rangers' head coach. The Flyers got a first round pick which turned out to be Ken Linseman.

I just paid to get the Voracek nameplate put on, and skate zone is going to charge at least 50 to redo the numbers. Ill just keep it as is.
