Some love for our younglings

Dustin Brown after 8 games:

3 goals
3 assists
-2 +/-
16 shots on goal
8 penalty in minutes

2 powerplay goals
1 game winning goal

He's been a menace out there on the ice every night. He's definately fit in very well and has been one of our best players in the early stages of the season. He's also getting quite a bit of positive notoriety amongst the whole HF community. Keep it up Dustin!

Michael Cammalleri after 6 games:

1 goal
4 assists
-2 +/-
15 shots on goal
2 penalty in minutes

1 powerplay goal
3 powerplay assists
1 game winning goal

After a very slow start and getting benched for two games, Camms has suddenly looked fairly comfortable out on the ice. It looks as if he's responsed to the benching and has played with much more of an edge. Hopefully he can keep up his recent play. Prove all of the doubters wrong Mike.

I should mention Gleason also. He's got 5 assists in 8 games this season and is a +6 on the year. He's been very solid. We'd be in trouble without him that's for sure.

Parros got his first goal last night against the Stars where it seemed like our whole team scored. Insert JR criticism here. He's a +4 so far and has a thuggish 26 penalty minutes. Eric Boulton who?

Anyway, with all of the negativity floating around i thought i'd give some props to our youngsters who are making a name for themselves in this league.

Let's not forget Frolov either. The last few games he's playing alot better and has 3 goals & 2 assists thru 8 games. We all seem to forget that Frolov is actually YOUNGER than Cammalleri but we seem to expect alot more from him. I love the future of LA Kings hockey!!!!!

Gleason
Brown
Cammalleri
Frolov
Kopitar
Tukonen
Grebeshkov
Petiot

Great thread and I agree with the comments, especially the reminder about Frolov. Hopefully someday soon we can add Kopitar and Tukonen to the list of young forwards doing well.

Agree!

We have so many good prospects right now that you can't help but be excited about the future seasons. But that being said and after watching our first 8 games, this team is definitely a contender right now and it's going to be a fun season watching the young talent along with the older guys (Robitaille, Roenick, Conroy) play together. I really like the job that Taylor did putting this team together and the best thing is he has cap room to help it out later on to.

Go Kings!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe he has just the one PP goal against Columbus.

You're right.. I was thinking of that shot from the point he took last night - but Brown tipped that one in.

Isn't it great to have a combination of kids & vets that can step up? Finally, the years of drafting/developing appear to be paying off.

I think considering our desperate need at D that Gleason has been our team MVP through 1/10 of the season.
