When will Schenn be recalled?

Just curious about how people on this board estimate the Schenn situation?!

Will he be recalled immediately now that his B salary is gone or did he really not show enough to be on this team and needs some seasoning in the AHL....

Depends on his shoulder I would guess. He said he was almost there last week - so take that for what it's worth.

I'm going to guess his return does not hinge on Couturier. I think Couturier is just too good to send back to juniors - both from the Flyers perspective and for his development. Schenn can spend time in the AHL but again - he's valuable to the Flyers. More valuable than Nodl or Read. I don't know how the Flyers can do it financially but I guess he's in the roster against New Jersey.

I think he will be recalled at game 10 and they may send Couturier back to juniors... I guess it all depends on his play in the next 8 or 9 games.

Do you mean Schenn's play in the next 9 games?

Because, if you are talking about Couturier, he is there to stay.

I think he'll be up relatively soon. Couturier looked awesome last night, best I've seen from him, anyway. I don't think Read looked very good last night, and there's always the hope that Shelley gets waived...

You don't think Read looked very good last night? The kid was lights out on the PK, was a nightmare on the forecheck, and drew a penalty on Boston... where was he unimpressive?

Did you miss the part of the game where he pulled a Giroux in the Boston zone during the PK, just occupying the puck for a solid 30 seconds?

What about the multiple turnovers on both the penalty kill and at ES? I didn't say he was bad, just that he didn't look very good. Sheesh.

Yeah, this is what I saw. Read was good in some ways, bad in others.

It's only one game though.

Read had a couple of turnovers, and he held onto the puck a little too long at times, but overall he should be satisfied with his first game in the NHL, imo.

Should be an interesting story line to follow in the first two weeks of the season. #14 looked real good last night.

Not "very good". He had some first-game hiccups, but still looked NHL ready, I guess.

Still too early to rate him.

For PK and defense alone he should be on this roster. When he fills out, we got a gem of a player on our hands.

Holmgren will make room for Schenn and Couturier. Bodies will be moved to accommodate the two of them. It wouldn't surprise me if Shelly, Nodl and someone else were moved/waived in order to keep those two in the lineup.

I think it all depends on his shoulder. The second he is fit he will be recalled to the team

Methinks Hartnell may be a casuality eventually....I think he is important to the team but his salary is a bit much for our situation and what we want to do and need to do. Might be best to leverage him into a cheaper sniper and then Simmonds take on more of his role.

Why has everyone suddenly jumped on the Lets get rid of Hartnell bandwagon again. It really infuriates me.

I think he might spend 3-4 games in the AHL as a little rehab stint.

I don't quite get it either. At the same time, if they continue to only play him for only 11 or so minutes like he had yesterday, then I can understand the trade talk to heat up.

Didn't vote i think schenn will play a few gms in the AHL till his shoulder heals plus once shelley suspension over he will be waved and noodle could be traded and then schenn will be recalled and if we need a cement head tom s. will be recalled and i know he has a 2 gm to serve if he is recalled.......

I think that Hartnell is still important. RIght now he was brought to the third line to be a calming influence for the young guys and he may be reunited with Briere later on, especially if Briere struggles to build chemistry with Voracek and Simmonds.

Agreed, I like Hartnell and what he can bring. Also, I thought Nodl played an excellent game last night. Great set up of Lilja, good on the forecheck, good on PK.

Per my other post, Schenn can be brought in without too much disruption, just move Couts down with Talbot and Nodl, put Schenn between Harts and Read, sit Rinaldo (might have to do something else, i.e. waive Shelley or put Lappy on LTIR to make the cap work).
