This season:

Markov - Gorges
Gill - Subban
O'Byrne - Yemelin
Spacek

I always liked him and with a future including Tinordi, Beaulieu and others imagine his size in the line up with them.
OB's biggest problem is JM had little to no faith in him, unless you are an ultra skilled player it's hard to make it in the NHL with a coach where you're always looking over your shoulder. Weber seems to be in the same situation. He'll be a quality 2nd pair guy once he gets a coach that trusts him.

Metropolit just owned the Rangers with his Swiss team. Metro is one of my favorite bottom 6 players for sure.

That is great. Definitely a fan of Metro, glad to see him doing well in Europe again.

So, here's a picture of the "new" Latendresse.

R.I.P Poutine/McDonald or whatever.

Guillaume Latendresse has lost weight after working with a nutritionist. Latendresse was out of shape when he reported for last year's training camp and he ended up being limited to 11 games with a groin injury. "I've worked my butt off," Latendresse said. "I worked really hard. Same as last year, I think. The only thing I did better was my nutrition. My nutrition was really a big key this summer. I like to eat. Everybody knows it. Sometimes it can be a battle for me, but I've been good with it and I feel really good on the ice." Although he has significant value to the Wild, his fantasy value is limited at best even when he's healthy.
Good for him. Glad he's doing what he needs to.

Even:

Quote:
2011/07/08: Minnesota Wild owner Craig Leipold had some choice words for forward Guillaume Latendresse on Thursday. Leipold was on a Minnesota radio station and did not hold back anything when talking about Latendresse's season last year. "Well, first of all, he came to camp out of shape. Let's just call it like it is. He will not come into camp this year out of shape. That's just the way it's going to be. And he has a trainer that is working with him, I've been told, everyday... And the statement that he will make when he walks in the locker room when camp opens up in August, the statement that he makes when he walks in that room and he's in shape is going to be a powerful statement of who he is, how hard he wants to win, how hard he wants to play. I know for a fact that our people are there, our people being from St. Paul are going to visit him almost every other week to make sure he is staying in his routine and staying in shape, eating right, everything else like that. So I feel good about Gui Latendresse next year." We shall see.

I've gotta admit, I sort of miss Lapierre. Still enjoy his play a lot.

I would love Lapierre as our 4th C.

Shame he thought he was too good for that.

While I think we had to trade Lappy (he forced it, and was basically worthless at the time of the trade), I really wish we still had an agitator.

Incredible how everybody HAS to be traded in Montreal.....Only here.....Best 3rd line not so long ago was Lappy-Lats-Kosto......Nobody wanted them out, nobody thought of them as cancers, nobody heard that they wanted out.....But then all of a sudden, they HAVE to go....Who's next? Hey maybe Subban.....

The organization does a good job of selling ******** stories about how every trade we get fleeced in the players are a cancer.

A guy like Lapierre last night might have actually put some emotion into the team. Really hope Emelin is added to the D-core soon and White makes it back.

Habs could do whatever they want....but we don't have to buy it. And the end-result, as far as I'm not mistaken, is that we are the worst team over the last years that HAD to get rid of guys for supposed bad behaviour. Either we're totally unlucky and we get the most craziest guys out there (though they seem to not be that bad 'cause they stick and produce with their team), either we're not patient enough and don't recognize talent when we have it.

It's a shame really 'cause while the bashing Timmins got from me and others (though, I still have some concerns about some choices based on analysis, not on hindsight), it's mostly more if not all a DG/Coach problem. Yet, it's rinse and repeat to a point that we HAD to buy our core not so long ago because we didn't have enough ressources to build it from the inside. And again, it's not SOLELY about the fact that we traded those guys....it's about the fact that we didn't receive anything in return or close to anything. That's a double whammy as far as I'm concerned.

And offensively, the whole prospect pool right now, as far as top 6 forwards are concerned, is build on 2 guys: Kristo and Gallagher. You hope that still a young guy in Eller would be able to one day fill the space as well. Looks much much better on D though....until one of some of those guys are considered cancers and just HAVE to go.....I see Kristo fitting that description....let's hope they learned from all of this....

Great pass by McDonagh on the Richards goal...

Hey I don't mind bad trades, I guess it happens....but bad trades that you will keep being reminded for the next 10-15 years....we have to be amongst the worst teams if not THE worst....

Lapierre, Lats, S.K.(with a better attitude), McDonagh and Grabovski (?) should all still be with the Habs...

Add to that

Getzlaf instead od A.K.
Giroux instead of Fischer
Lucic instead of Maxwell
Bergeron instead opf Urquart
Clutterbuck or Marchand instead of White...
Carlson instead of Tanguay (1 st round pick given to Calgary)

add Higgins + Komisarek + Streit if you want.

+ Gorges, Subban, Price, MaxPac, Plekanec and Markov

And you got an amazing team and a Stanley Cup contender year after year

All homegrown talent besides Gorges.

No big UFA signings like Cammy, Gionta, Cole, Gill, Spacek, Mara, Moen... even Hamrlik
And no ugly deal to obtain Gomez.

So, Pouliot will play his first game as a Bruins tonight. He will play on the 3rd line with Seguin.

Anyone else think he won't finish on that line by the end of the game?

You can do this for every team in the league.

We could also have

We could also have

Hugh Jessiman instead of AK
(It can't get any worse than Fischer)
Codey Burki instead of Maxwell
Robin Figren instead of White
The guy the Flames actually drafted after the Tanguay trade (Who hasn't shown much NHL potential), or one of the many other prospects who will never make it that typically get picked that low.

And while we are at it
Kevin Marshall instead of Subban
Beniot Pouliot instead of Price
Alexei Cherepanov (R.I.P.) instead of Pacioretty

Yvon Lambert was pretty good on L'Anti Chambre. Good anecdotes from his playing days and the lack of pride in some players today.

Worth a mention at least...
