My theory on him being out a long time is just based on the way he was speaking after the game. He said something along the lines of "It was a tough night, I didn't even think this could happen. I can't talk about it right now".

That being said, I just checked twitter and it looks positive. More people are reporting it is a hamstring injury, and there is speculation he might not even be out 3 weeks. They are doing tests but it looks much better than first thought.

I heard Campoli can be a bit of a drama queen at times, so hopefully that's all it was.

Renaud Lavoie confirming it's a hamstring injury and could be less than 3 weeks.

Yeah I hear that Campoli wasn't liked by his team in his junior days. Not sure if this is a rumour.. or if we should care. (People grow up) but this whole "drama queen" thing... kinda shows more and more.

I assume it was just a pulled hamstring and he should be back in 2-3 weeks. Don't think it's a tear or anything.

You know what's funny is that Renaud Lavoie has alredy told Chris Campoli that #17 is a bad number (for superstious reasons i.e. injuries) when he first arrived to Montreal.

He almost got knocked out his first game in the preseason as a Hab and now he hurts his hamstring...lol...maybe he should take Renaud's advice

He won't play. Stubbs said he was ruled out for last night and Sunday, at the very least.

Don't know if you watched 'Le Match' yesterday after the game. Laraque spoke about the #17.

From hockeyinsideout:

Update at 11:30 a.m.: Lars Eller is taking part in the Canadiens practice. Michael Cammalleri left after a few minutes. Carey Price is not practising. No sign of Blair Betts.

Strain or tear though? Im guessing if its a strain the crutches would be just to make the recovery as fast as possible.

Blair Betts we knew wasn't practicing, Carey Price may be doing a therapy day, Cammalleri may have taken a bump and is just keeping off of it to play longer this weekend.

Jesus your depressing, I play competitive contact sports at the university level, and If your feeling it a bit your coach would rather you take a day off and be good to go for game day. Then practice possibly aggravate it more and miss game day. I've played three games for rugby and hockey each with a messed up rotator joint. I've been kept out of practices to keep it for game day my shoulders fine. You just can't push this **** . Doesn't change the fact it hurts but it's not keeping me out, calm the **** down all will be fine

I assume you're sarcastic.

Please be, because a player leaving practice early means nothing.

Not saying he is a big name UFA but at least get your facts straight.
He was signed in late september, and it sounds like some of his offers were not even 1 way deals. Now, I'm sure that part of the reason he went so late is because some teams are already set from a finances point of view, but the main point is that a good defense should not be worrying about campoli missing some time. What it means is that Emelin and Weber aren't quite where the organization hoped they would be at this point, and the overall depth is not quite up to par right now.

At least he was cleared for contact, that's a start. I don't know who John Bartlett is but it's on TSN so I'm assuming it's legit. He says:

"The good news is that Eller has been given the green light for contact in practice and they are targeting the home opener against the Flames as his return date."

http://www.tsn.ca/montreal/blogs/habs_report/?id=377606

Hopefully he's good for the home opener and ready to step in and play a role right away.

John Barlett is the new Habs English radio play by play guy, so yeah I would assume he knows what he's talking about.

Definitely a huge blow for the Habs.

Campoli is an unlucky man.
