Callahan-->Hamilton. He only have 45 games in NHL since his pro debut in 2004. So anyone saying :
1 - Emelin sucks and will be gone in Russia
2 - PG is freaked out
3 - Callahan could be a top 6 dman
4 - Campoli will be gone for a long time

Will be kicked in the nuts by me

Yup, I did not like him much either.

It's obvious that this means that Markov's career is over, Gorges somehow reinjured his knee, Campoli's out for the year, Yemelin's going back to Russia, Mitera will never play a minute in the NHL and the Habs are trading Tinordi. There's no other possible explanation for signing Joe Callahan.

I guess this move pretty much guarantees that Campoli is out for a prolonged period of time, probably contracted Markov-itis. Although, I don't mind this move at all since Callahan could develop into a top 6 d-man by the end of the season. Though I think PG freaks out and panics too much so it's likely that Callahan is a big piece of ****.

All in all, it equates that Emelin certainly isn't what we thought he was and is probably asking Grabovski for the name of the airline that took him from Canadiens practice to see his agent, only this time, he's going straight to Russia.

We're only 1 game in and already sinking to this level of pathetic depth. Talk about sitting on your laurels all off-season.

Because Campoli got hurt and the Rangers claimed Woywitka? Makes sense to me.

#canadiens Joe Callahan sera probablement envoyé à Hamilton s'il n'est pas réclamé. Should be sent down if not claim.

Folks Woywitka got Claimed so we signed this guy. Is it that hard for some of you to piece 1 and 1 together?

Gauthier does something and JimmyDarmody complains, it must be a day ending in 'Y'.

Kyle Cumiskey is also on waivers.

Might be a decent pick up to fill in for injuries.

I hear nothing but terrible things about Cumiskey, he's tiny and not very good.

(But good God, the kid can skate fast)

From Hockeys Future:

Quote:
Joe Callahan – Joe Callahan received the dubious distinction of finishing the 2004-05 season with the worst plus/minus rating in the American Hockey League. Entering the professional ranks after three solid seasons with the Yale Bulldogs, the 22-year-old defenseman ended a dismal and disappointing rookie campaign with a -35.

Callahan had an impressive showing at the Grizzlies training camp and saw most of his ice time on Utah’s top two defensive lines. However, the big rearguard was prone to defensive lapses and struggled through a 22-game stretch from early December to late January when his plus/minus dropped by 19. At 6’3, 219 pounds, Callahan plays a physical game and does his best work along the boards and in the corners. He also has some offensive upside to his game and makes smart outlet passes. The Brockton, Massachusetts native finished the season strong, posting five points and a -2 in his final 20 games and earning year-end honors as the Utah Grizzlies most improved player. Callahan finished the year with 11 points in 75 games.

Although he faltered at times this year, Callahan has the physical tools to be a fifth or sixth defenseman at the NHL level. His positional play showed great improvement and his confidence grew near the end of the season. Chosen 70th overall by Phoenix at the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Callahan should benefit from a couple years of seasoning in the AHL before competing for a spot on the Phoenix Coyotes blueline.

Apparently the Rangers have been talking to him, so he may not be available much longer.
