Same old Penguins - get a lead, turtle, kill the OT then win the shootout.

1 game out of the 1 game total he could legally play for them up to this point. Stex stepped up to the plate, kept his cool in the pressure cooker that is Toronto, squared off against his Montreal demons and hit a big **** YOU of a home run to all the doubters and naysayers. Maybe he strikes out at some point, but so far he hasn't, and I ain't in the business of judging folks on what they haven't done. What he has done is be the 3rd best player on a 1.000 win % team. Time to give credit where credit is due, or not give credit at all.

I guess Stacks cant avoid being *****ed out here even when he isn't in the Caps jersey... oh well...

Surprised Boston didn't go after Jager physically, thats what he needs, imo.

You are probably right, it was a long, long pre-game ceremony...from what i saw Boston outplayed Philly for long stretches of the game, but just couldnít finish... they didnít shoot enough and when they did a lot of shots went wide, Bryzgalov didnít even have to be great (even thou there were couple of nice saves), just being good was good enough.

Stecks 18 for 25 on faceoffs for a cool 72% - good for him.

I thought Bryzgalov looked like the real deal last night. The rest of the team, however, didn't look that great. Building chemistry I suppose.

id rather lose a faceoff and not have Steckel on the ice than win a faceoff and have him in play

For the season-long opponent rootfest, yes.

Talk about the prospects available in the draft thread.

Like I posted earlier, but I have to agree - they're VERY well coached. I'm not a huge FIREBRUCE guy, but I think the Caps win the Cup this year with Bylsma behind the bench. 24/7 wasn't any sort of be-all, end-all, but the disparity between coaching was at times epic. DB was calm yet firm and direct, succinctly pointed out what they needed to do better and how they were going to do it, before injecting some energy through various tactics. Meanwhile BB quite literally F-bomb rah-rah-rahed his way in and out of the locker room, leaving the players with their heads down, lifeless.

Disclaimer: the Caps were often down, while the Pens had plenty of leads. I suspect BB's fine when leading. I'd like to see a little more Xs and Os than **** **** ****ing **** when down a goal or more, though.

Discipline beats emotion 9 times out of 10. "Stay Angry" was embarrassing. The Pens are favorites in the East, IMO. The Caps will either need to overcome their coach or their coach will need to evolve for me to consider them a true Cup contender.
