On the Sharks board they evaluate the refs after each game, and by the 30th game or so, you can see how terrible the refs will be and what will and wont be called. I wonder how these guys are ranked from last year.

Who were they?

Eveyone's looking at the shots on goal but to be completely honest Callahan/Girardi was an extremely tough choice for me for #1 star.

That third line is all finesse, not enough grit or defense. Can't see that line lasting long at all. Switch Feds and Wolski.

I don't understand why some are content with the point.

We may be missing Staal, but this is a good hockey team. In reality, they should be good enough to compete with the best of the best; personally, I'm sick of the complacency this franchise seems to exude. This is absolutely a game they should have won, up 2-1 late in the 3rd. An undisciplined defensive game lead to the loss, and while some may think the Kings are superior, it's far from set in stone. It's okay to lose when you play well and lose the game while doing so, but losing a game due to completely avoidable mistakes is unacceptable.

Also a bad play by MDZ on the Kings second goal.

Trying the blame the refs is kinda weak.

Was it the refs fault they couldn't muster a shot for half a period as well?

Richards was effective but relatively quiet. Gaborik was the real threat tonight.

Hopefully we see some more power plays in tomorrow's game.

The refs called what they had to call.

If the Kings are disciplined, they're not gonna get called for anything that's not a penalty. It's that simple. I didn't think the Kings took a signle minor, besides the Gagne jab.

The problem with the third line was that they often were out against the Kings first line.. and WW - Step - Zucc isnt exactly a defensive rock. Im sure Torts will....make some adjustments (that said, lines were surprisingly uniform this game i thought)

I wouldn't have been as upset if it was us forcing overtime and then losing in it.

It just grinds my gears when you have the lead with 5 to go and you give it up. Tough shot to stop it was, but still.

Such is The Rangers missing Staal I guess.

I agree, this loss INFURIATES me.

That lost point that was spoon fed to the Queens could be the difference between playoffs or golf. Or home ice advantage.

EVERY point is important.

Agree to disagree there. MDZ played good out there. He wasn't flawless on the Richards goal, but he did basically all of what could realistically be asked of him. He's not Staal defensively.

While that may be true, the Rangers were given penalties that were questionable IMO.

Better be the latter in this case.

If this team misses the playoffs, it'll be the biggest disappointment since 1992-1993. This is ABSOLUTELY a playoff caliber team, no question about. They're poised to be a top-4 team, IMO, at least they should be. If they clean up the defense, this team we go far.
