Henrik Lundqvist

** Spoiler alert for today's game. So if you haven't seen it, read no further.

Hey guys, I'm an Islander fan and not making an effort to dump on your team.

But I've been watching Henrik Lundqvist's top 25 saves, and a majority of these saves emanate from miserable turnovers and tough bounces. And he is, and has been, your team's MVP since the lockout ended. I say that with all due respect to Ryan Callahan, who is also a hell of a player. But the guy makes great saves that bail his teammates out. My envy enlies in the fact that your goalie can steal games, and our "#1 goalie" can't even win a game if he had the league's best defense in history. And our best goalie is getting hosed because our management and/or ownership seems to be name branding. Al Montoya should be our #1, but his last name is DiPietro (who will always be protected by management) or Nabokov (who is a big name, but also a big choker). So yeah, I'm jealous of your goaltending situation.

As for today's game against the Kings, the Rangers got hosed in overtime. That was a horrible, soft call. And I can't believe that Tortarella holds McDounaugh accountable for that. Yeah, I'm happy they lost, but that was a brutal call.

Even if torts wanted to hold him accountable he couldn't because of the injury situation...eminger would be playing 25 mins which is downright scary

What happened to the days where my friends and I would argue who was better Hank or Ricky DP?

If it makes you feel better, I always said that DiPietro was going to be a top goalie before he got injured. Brodeur - Lundqvist - DiPietro was going to be the big three in the tri-state area. Too bad.

Also, that Gomez contract was brutal also. LOL Sather is a genius in getting rid of that Gomez contract and convincing Dolan to send Redden to the AHL.

Sheesh.. with the DP contract. 11 more years of an injured goalie who is a shell of what he was. Ouch... Garth/Wang should just buy him out or do a Redden to DP. LOL
